My final research board for submission; a combined mood and concept board for a project I carried out entitled ‘Unidentifiable.’ Reflecting a personally generated concept, followed by a visual communication of my thoughts; this work was entirely independent, which allowed me to explore and develop my creative capacity even further.

Mia is a four-year-old “micro” rugby player with Regina Mini Rugby. She is planning on becoming a police officer when she grows up! And was a little surprised when an actual police officer showed up who was also a rugby player. Photo by Heidi Atter.

MYP Personal Project Exhibition - May 22, 2013

Something i designed in my spare time to experiment

The submitted images are part of a personal project where I was inspired by one of my favourite reads, Paolo Coelho: Manual of the Warrior of Light, and the romantic atmosphere and architecture of John Ryland Library in Manchester.

I had visited this building many times and waited for the best light conditions because i wanted to capture the strong contrast between light and darkness. I also wanted to present the way, light brings the dark building alive, warms up the cold stones and fills the walls and stairs with exciting light features.

I aimed to symbolise happiness and sorrow, positive and negative and express my own feelings and experience about overcoming difficulties and finding fulfilment in life with the help of positive thinking.

I used Canon EOS 400D camera with 18-55mm lens and a touch of natural light only.

Derek Bisaro is 28 and a physiotherapist at a Regina clinic. Before moving to Regina, Derek played in his home province of British Columbia. Now he plays for the Regina Condors Rugby Team and is basically the team physiotherapist. He will often be seen tapping up players heads, hands, shoulders, knees and toes. Photo by Heidi Atter.
