Better get back into my Flickr Box - so here we go...
This is a personal project I've been working on since probably April. I've been trying to get a bunch of things to line up on this shot. I have shot this scene probably 6 times, and haven't nailed it yet. But have gotten a few nice shots. Close, but not my goal.
Tide too low, focal length not right, water not smooth, ferry not sharp from rough water. The list goes on and on. I don't know if I will ever nail it, but I will continue to try.

Because I'm a masochist, I shot a concert 100% on film. I did it for the same reason people climb Mount Everest — because it's there. I've been good friends with the bassist for Cold many years and she just wanted me to come to the show. There wasn't really any expectations, so I did it as a personal project. Let's be real. I love film, but digital is the greatest thing ever for concert photography. 😂

Curtis and I got to take a rare vacation the week before last. It took months and months of planning and a whole team of people here to help. I haven't been shooting or posting much because Anna has been in crisis for all of October and November. It's been really bad. Very bad. We worried that we shouldn't go on vacation at all but our trip was prepaid and nonrefundable. Anna's educational, medical, and psychiatric team all said to go... so we went.
Curtis and I spent a week in Cancun. We went to an all-inclusive resort and did nothing at all. It took 3.5 days to actually relax. We slept. We swam. We went on a catamaran and he snorkeled. We drank. A lot. And ate. A lot. We finally relaxed.
On our way back, we picked up some presents for the kids and family. We got this blanket as a free thank you gift from the vendor after we purchased all of our presents. It's beautiful. Handwoven, colorful, and special. You can see the varying stripes of color as well as the threads under the weave. I love it.
Thank you to my mom, Jenny, Olivia, and all the folks at CLHS for helping while we were gone. We love you. <3
