This Blue Lavandin attracts a lot of bees. That encouraged me to try some closeup shots. The effort gave me a new appreciation for macro insect photography. It was hard to get the right part of the bee in focus.
"Peeking Rainbow:" The Granite Dells in Prescott and Mingus Mountain beyond catch the fading rays of sun as it set behind me through the clouds. Sometimes it pays to turn around!
I found this white peony at Cantigny this afternoon. And, as it has been raining here for a few days, the water droplets shown are not Chuck-aided :)
Penticton's Jerry mountain peeks over the hill. Shot from OK Falls beach at Skaha lake. Okanagan sunsets are the best in the world, but that's my opinion.
Who's peeking over the treetops? I'm gonna guess that the focus on the treetop was an accident. I was most likely going for the giraffe, but I loved the artistic mood it had, so it became a "keeper" image.

Friday's we normally have baby Joshua and after I returned from the gym, there he was ready to play!! So, it was hide and seek that developed into a peek-a-boo session and here is Joshua sneaking a peek between the kitchen wall and a wall radiator!
Friday's are fun and this little guy always makes me love our time together!!

Caught this young moorhen peeking over the swan pond wall at Culzean Castle, South Ayrshire, Scotland.
This Sweet Scabious - Scabiosa atropurpurea blown by the wind peeks its head around our glass artwork in Mr T's dry garden. A pretty - tall - plant that looks well in the raised bed.
"Position: full sun
Soil: moderately fertile, well-drained, neutral to slightly alkaline soil
Rate of growth: average
Flowering period: June to August
Hardiness: fully hardy, short-lived perennial
Fragrant lilac-purple to claret-red flowers, top wiry stems for several months from early summer. These button-like flowers are rich in nectar, so act as a magnet to beneficial insects such as bees and butterflies, which makes them ideal for wildlife-friendly gardens. Plant them in naturalised drifts or clumps through the herbaceous border, making sure you have some extras that can be used for cut flowers." www.crocus.co.uk/plants/_/scabiosa-atropurpurea/classid.2...
This swan's head appeared above the concrete of Gravesend's Gordon Promenade, bobbing in and out of view as it worked out how to climb the steps it was facing...in the end it resorted, wisely, to wing power, after which it ambled up to me and stood, I think expecting food. Not getting any it plodded off across the grass that leads to Gordon Gardens where a pair of swans already live. I don't know if it got chased away, but it returned to the river and let the tide take it down and away...
There used to be 30 - 40 swans by the Prom: I don't know if they were moved on or if other swans chased them away, but the two (plus sic cygnets) currently occupying the pond (with a pair of circumspect Egyptian Geese and their brood) are 'it' for the time being.

Taken on a walk around the local park at lunch saw a squirrel run down a tree so i crept around the back and as i was going for my camera the little fella peered around the tree and i got this rather cute candid

Photographed with a Canon EOS 5D Mark II, and Leica R Summilux 80mm F1.4 Lens, with B+W UV + Haze Filter. Handheld.
The Leica Glass on a Canon body, combines the best of both worlds. Manual Lens with Digital body. Old school with new technology. It just rocks.
Because this is not a canon compatible lens, but has been used with an adaptor, the lens info will not reflect correctly in the EXIF data.

I was looking for mushrooms and carrying my camera with me as I often do. I came to a familiar forest lake and saw this old branch peeking above the surface. It has probably been there for years, but hasn’t caught my eye before.
The lake is called Utterträsk (otter lake) and its diameter is roughly 200 m. The water comes from natural springs and due to its location in the middle of a forest and hence great humus content, the color of it is brown or close to black. The interesting thing though is that there are perch living in the lake and their stripes are not the usual light / dark green but rather brown / black! They would look like monters if only they were bigger than the tiny 10 cm that they in reality are.
