"Peeking Through"
Sunshine through evergreen branches as it rises behind Grassy Ridge.

I found this white peony at Cantigny this afternoon. And, as it has been raining here for a few days, the water droplets shown are not Chuck-aided :)

Photographed with a Canon EOS 5D Mark II, and Leica R Summilux 80mm F1.4 Lens, with B+W UV + Haze Filter. Handheld.
The Leica Glass on a Canon body, combines the best of both worlds. Manual Lens with Digital body. Old school with new technology. It just rocks.
Because this is not a canon compatible lens, but has been used with an adaptor, the lens info will not reflect correctly in the EXIF data.

Who's peeking over the treetops? I'm gonna guess that the focus on the treetop was an accident. I was most likely going for the giraffe, but I loved the artistic mood it had, so it became a "keeper" image.

Went to the Martin Parr exhibition at the Science Museum - totally inspiring - and just outside it were these Parr-worthy toddlers. Unfortunately I'm no Martin Parr, but you have to keep trying...

This Sweet Scabious - Scabiosa atropurpurea blown by the wind peeks its head around our glass artwork in Mr T's dry garden. A pretty - tall - plant that looks well in the raised bed.
"Position: full sun

Rate of growth: average
Flowering period: June to August
Hardiness: fully hardy, short-lived perennial
Fragrant lilac-purple to claret-red flowers, top wiry stems for several months from early summer. These button-like flowers are rich in nectar, so act as a magnet to beneficial insects such as bees and butterflies, which makes them ideal for wildlife-friendly gardens. Plant them in naturalised drifts or clumps through the herbaceous border, making sure you have some extras that can be used for cut flowers." www.crocus.co.uk/plants/_/scabiosa-atropurpurea/classid.2...
A peek at this little mushroom through the fence. We came across this on the Big Pines Trail in Algonquin Park... protecting an old logging operation and a huge felled white pine.
A tiny hover fly, a little dewdrop on it's head, peeped at me
from the center of a bedding Begonia flower head.
how one needs to dress when going outside in teens-- and sunday it's going to be below zero ~shudder~
ANSH scavenger10 Peek-a-boo
I was looking for mushrooms and carrying my camera with me as I often do. I came to a familiar forest lake and saw this old branch peeking above the surface. It has probably been there for years, but hasn’t caught my eye before.
The lake is called Utterträsk (otter lake) and its diameter is roughly 200 m. The water comes from natural springs and due to its location in the middle of a forest and hence great humus content, the color of it is brown or close to black. The interesting thing though is that there are perch living in the lake and their stripes are not the usual light / dark green but rather brown / black! They would look like monters if only they were bigger than the tiny 10 cm that they in reality are.
