I was looking for mushrooms and carrying my camera with me as I often do. I came to a familiar forest lake and saw this old branch peeking above the surface. It has probably been there for years, but hasn’t caught my eye before.
The lake is called Utterträsk (otter lake) and its diameter is roughly 200 m. The water comes from natural springs and due to its location in the middle of a forest and hence great humus content, the color of it is brown or close to black. The interesting thing though is that there are perch living in the lake and their stripes are not the usual light / dark green but rather brown / black! They would look like monters if only they were bigger than the tiny 10 cm that they in reality are.
I'm so far behind but trying to catch up.

He was sunbathing, as soon as he heard the click of the camera, he looked up then ran off fast.
Another in my "Capitol Flowers" series, this one taken on 8-8-08. Even though photographs can record exact and detailed images, it's fun sometimes to only suggest.

Tucson's two tallest "skyscrapers" (nothing higher than 330' here) and the rest of downtown are nearly blocked from my view on Tumamoc Hill by the ridge in the foreground.
Arizona Stadium on the University of Arizona campus is on the far left, and the towers of the Cathedral of Saint Augustine on the right.
In the distance on the far right is Tucson's fourth-tallest building, known simply as 5151 E Broadway. Earlier in the week I took a couple of cell phone pics from its 16th (of 17) floor.
On the far left are the Catalina Mountains, and the Rincons in Saguaro National Park are on the right. I'm never sure to which (if either) the center, connecting ridge belongs. Something called geology severely limits my knowledge of things like that.
Former Ashton Corporation Leyland Titan PD" 5444 peeks its nose out of the old Aston garage in the mid seventies with a turquoise VW Beetle to keep it company.
The bus is now preserved and forms part of the Museum of Transport collection at Boyle Street, Manchester.

How come as our children/babies get older, photos that seemed like nothing at the time become so 'perfect' to us later on? This is an oldie, and I'm so glad I didn't delete it.
I'm feeling a little on the quiet side today, which probably has a lot to do with having this headache and really bad neck and shoulder pain.
But before i go take a short nap, i thought i'll introudce you to my newest girl in the dolly family. Meet Sophie. I've tried to write an introudction for her over and over again but nothing i write seems to make sense. So, i'm just gonna show you photo of her. Picture is worth a thousand words anyway, right?
Here's to a little calm and quiet coming your way this weekend.
Hope you have a good one.
Love to you.

Taken before Christmas this one and still residing about 12 ft from a major path frequented by dog walkers, families and general public!
Pebbel looking out from under her favourite hide-out, which has turned into an orange-red autumn cover by now.
I'm wearing a fluffy tulle petticoat under my satin skirt, and when I sit down like this it keeps pushing my skirt up. It's intended to be voluminous and to do so, yet more when I'm standing upright and not so much when I'm sitting. To prevent an inappropriate upskirt peek I have to keep my skirt down with my hands, which is fine as the smooth satin feels nicely silky and soft in my hands.
