With so much horrible weather here recently, I'm afraid I've resorted to playing hide and seek with the slugs in the garden. Here's one sneaking up on me :D
Canada lynx kitten peeks it's head out of some branches! This photo was taken at Stone Zoo in Massachusetts!

There were at least 3 or 4 active Starling nests within a very small radius, here's a wee one peeking out.
My husband and I saw a bee in a flower. He thought the bee must have been trapped because it moved around but didn't come out. I thought it must be able to get out. So we waited and watched. Sure enough, it came out!
Does anyone know what these flowers are? I took the photo at Longwood Gardens, PA.
I gave my Lagoona a boil-perm and I love her so much more this way! <3 I was so disappointed with her box hair, when the prototype had big curls.
I decided to play around near one of my boyfriend's nano aquariums. She's peering in.
Looking out over Higgins Lake as the sun sets.
I sit and think as the clouds begin to wink
It looks like God peeks.
He peeks to see whats up with you and me.
Perhaps life goes so fast he doesn't want to blink.
It looks like God peeks.

I have been out most of the day and evening and came home to the news that my brother has had two falls today at his unit requiring the ambulance to attend. The first call he said he was okay so he was settled and the ambulance left. His neighbour found him unconscious at 6 p.m. and called the ambulance again, when he was taken to hospital. He only came home from hospital last Friday after breaking his leg 7 or 8 weeks ago and this is the fourth fall since then. It is such a worry as I am over 8 hours drive away and my younger brother 6 hours away. He really should go into full time care, but is refusing to do so.

This was an amazing experience! I was skiing on the Karwendel mountain near Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany and it was late in the evening. I made this image using a specialized Blue-n-Gold circular polarizing filter... I wish I hadn't! But it was a new piece of gear and I didn't know any better. I didn't need anything to amplify or alter the color scene. It was just that beautiful. I tried to minimize the effects of that filter in camera raw with a white balance adjustment and a hue adjustment... nothing major. I'm pretty happy with this edit and the serene and simple composition.
I have wanted to see this behavior for a long time. Having seen images I knew it was a behavior not uncommon for Least Terns. So last Thursday as I was watching these chicks I noticed them sneaking under the adult from the front and pushing far in. The parent had been turned parallel to my position but I kept watching. Then she moved another 45 degrees and I could see feathers moving and tiny beaks sticking out. I looked away for a moment and when I looked up, she had shifted with her tail facing my direction. And there they were, these two wee Least Terns snuggled safely and peeking out from beneath mamas tertials. <3 Living the dream! I confess that this is actually a frame pulled from 4K video, Canon 1DX II. I took stills but was happiest with this frame from the video. A video recap coming in the next day or two. June 28, 2018
The next time he came up from below the table, he hit his nose .. game was then over.

~ EXPLORE ~ Aug. 09, 2012
I found this amazing nesting area in Vacaville...quite by accident as I was exploring the farming area. Even tho there were hundreds of egrets, snowy, cattle and great with a few night herons...this one proved to be a challenge as the wind kept blowing the branches and I had to wait until the right moment to catch it 'peeking out' of it's eucalyptus cover!
