Playing peek-a-boo with a nuthatch. It takes some patience and luck to catch him.... Happy Wing Wednesday!

A Manhattan-bound (N) train peeks through the mess of structural steel at the east end of the Queensboro Bridge. The abandoned trackways here led to the now demolished BMT side of Queensboro Plaza. Trains now use the IRT side only, with (N) and (W) trains arriving where IRT trains to the 2nd Avenue El formerly did.

Sorry for the lack of photos - we've been very busy with the puppies, the garden, training the big dogs and spending time with friends.
Another opportunistic photo.
The moon was very bright a couple of days ago and I saw this lonesome tree so I decided to bring them together.
There was Pylons and such in the background but I decided to leave them in to make it more natural, hope you like it.
Thanks in advance for the Views, faves and comments.
Yes, I admit. // I was peeking in / but only because / I'm attracted to matter / behind closed doors.

Was surprised to see these little mushrooms peeking out from under the leaves in one of olur flowerbeds today, when going out to fill the birdfeeders!
Yes, it's been rainy, and the past week has been warmer than usual, but it is December, and the official start of winter is in 10 days!
My horizontal panorama from Norah Head Lighthouse this morning. The sun came up and poked through the horizon for around 2 minutes before it rose up into the thick cloud cover.

"Hey lady, I'm over here" one of many of our backyard birds - the House Finch (Carpodacus mexicanus).
This cute cardinal is playing peek-a-boo with me.
There was actually a bird feeder he was peeking around, but I cropped that out.
The kittens and chickens are mingling just fine. This is Dunkan, playing peek-a-book with one of the hens. At one point today, I found all five kittens and that many hens in the open garage all together.
