The kittens have already found the ventilation hole below our oven. Good job we weren't having pizza that evening.

Technical details: the only way to get a decent photo with the light available down there was using ISO1600 and an old f/1.8 50mm manual focus lens!

This is from a couple months ago when my husband was re-covering a cat tree (scratching post) for a friend's kitten. Of course my cats could not help but to lend a hand...

Day 5

A little game the weatherman dreamt up for me to play, with the clouds. This one time I managed to get at least the power in decent light.

We can always count on some type of exciting encounter on our departure day and this year was no different. We were up and out early for sunrise at Oxbow Bend and while there, we noticed a lot of traffic heading down the Cattleman's Bridge road. Decided to check it out before heading back to the lodge to pack up and head out, and I was glad we did. We heard the day previous that Grizzly 610 and her two cubs had been hanging out around the area, but we were always a day late and dollar short when it came to spotting them.

Finally we lucked out....they were a long way off to start; mom was grazing and easy enough to see moving through the sage fields, but the cubs were so small, it was difficult to spot them until they entered an opening. As I was panning back and forth in search of them, this little one happened to pop up in the sage just in time to snap a few shots before disappearing again. Within minutes, they appeared out of nowhere, probably less than 20-30 yards from the large crowd of eagerly awaiting photographers, crossed the road and headed off into the trees. We would have loved to stay and watch some more, but it was time to pack up and hit the road. Great ending to a fabulous trip.

Have a wonderful Thursday, and as always, thank you for all your visits and comments!!!!

The view of Seville city from the clock tower of the Cathedral.

The Cathedral of Saint Mary of the See (Spanish: Catedral de Santa María de la Sede), better known as Seville Cathedral, is a Roman Catholic cathedral in Seville (Andalusia, Spain). It is the largest Gothic cathedral and the third-largest church in the world. It is also the largest cathedral in the world, as the two larger churches, the Basilica of the National Shrine of Our Lady of Aparecida and St Peter's Basilica, are not the seats of bishops. It was registered in 1987 by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, along with the Alcázar palace complex and the General Archive of the Indies

Playing peek-a-boo with a nuthatch. It takes some patience and luck to catch him.... Happy Wing Wednesday!

A Manhattan-bound (N) train peeks through the mess of structural steel at the east end of the Queensboro Bridge. The abandoned trackways here led to the now demolished BMT side of Queensboro Plaza. Trains now use the IRT side only, with (N) and (W) trains arriving where IRT trains to the 2nd Avenue El formerly did.
