Small Belmont Pond, Kelowna, BC.

Woody and son, Inc., of Belmont

There is now a much larger flock of WODUs in the Belmont Ponds. Yesterday, they moved into the large pond where the young 'uns enjoyed frolicking about. This series, however, was taken the day before when they were still cautiously testing the safety of the small pond. While there were several young females, I saw only this one young drake.

Incidentally, I'm shooting from across the pond, under cover of the big willow. This shot is cropped; I wasn't as close as you may think....

I accidentally deleted this one, when I wanted to put it in my 300+ set and wanted to remove it from the 200+ set. Never too old to learn, I guess.

This castle owes it's current decor due to the work of one man who renovated and expanded the building during the 19th century.

The building can be traced back to the Roman periods. It is reported that in 780 Charlemagne could have passed by the place on his way back from Rome, where he went to have his son baptized by the Pope.

In the 1970’s from the 20th century the castle was transformed into a hotel, only to close its doors in the 1990’s. The castle remains unused to this day.

The castle is built in different styles; including Moorish and Indian. It has 365 rooms and every room has a different theme.

Les Cascades ~ Parc National de la Jacques-Cartier

Last month we travelled to Quebec. We wanted to explore Parc National De La Jacques-Cartier. The park is located north of Quebec City in the heart of the Laurentian Mountains.

Luckily, the area received a huge snow storm a couple of days before we arrived so there was plenty of the white stuff to play around in.

On the day of our arrival, we decided to check out a small trail called ‘Les Cascades’. Spoiler Alert. In the winter time apparently the falls are both hidden and silent beneath the snow. It was still fun to tromp through the bush and we even got a little peek at the Laurentian mountains from a tiny lookout.
