ODC-Catching The Light

After all the rain yesterday the snow moved in over night and left us with a very pretty soft cloudy sky.

. . . Back to hummingbirds! These are curious birds, for sure. They peek out from behind a feeder to see what you are up to about every 5 seconds! Just like a guilty 5 year old raiding the cookie jar, checking to see if anyone is coming!

Have a great week Facebook, Flickr, and 500px friends!

The Tawnies always make me smile. When I popped by this morning Dad half opened his eye to see who I was and it looked like he smiled at me. If you look closely you can just see his eye partly open.

A classic position that I love.. Snowy lifts off, all the while keeping an eye on you..

With so many pictures to choose from given the numbers of warblers it was hard to choose my next post.

Is this the best one, possibly , but more importantly it was the composition that drew mw to this one.

It's hard taking photos at night when you're on a boat but here's one I managed to get last weekend in Turkey. This is the moon rising above Çiftlik Adası, a small island south of Marmaris.

I have confession. I was never that crazy about macro. Sure it looked cool & could serve a purpose, but it was never that crazy about it, until I tried shooting some macro (not just medium close shots) and then I really got hooked. I can easily see macro progrssing from 'a style I shoot sometimes' to a strange obsession. Luckily I haven't crossed that line, yet... as far as I can tell.

A shot of a frog with is head up in a pond filled with lilies and other leaves. He was so hard to spot due to his colouring. I spotted him because he first jump in the water and I heard the splash and then just waited to see if he would come up again and he did.
