The signals they have keep coming & going! I should've bought that Bob Panich LED signal earlier, but now there's 2 1980s Aldridge 300mm signals.

The Paramount Theatre is a massive Art Deco movie theater located in downtown Oakland, California, USA. Built in 1931, it was the largest multi-purpose theater on the West Coast. Today, the Paramount is the home of the Oakland East Bay Symphony and the Oakland Ballet, it regularly plays host to R&B, jazz, blues, pop, rock, gospel, classical music, as well as ballets, plays, stand-up comedy, lecture series, special events, and re-runs of classical movies from Hollywood's Golden Era.
After growing up with Universal Studios, I was jaded to backlots until I visited Paramount Pictures. This lot is small, but stunning in its detail. The buildings are unique and look real from many angles. The architecture is not specific and quite varied, but those details just slayed me. Even the cracks in the sidewalk were planned by an art director. I stayed far too long, but adored the Paramount Pictures backlot.

Yesterday i was pretty tired after work and felt like being lazy all day, but while I was laying around watching a movie, the movie inspired me to go out and shoot. Like usual I didn't have a plan, I just grabbed my camera bag and hit the road. It was a the gas station half way to Seattle that i realized i left all my compact flash cards at home. I was contemplating whether i wanted to just go home or go blow $50 on a new card.. " Well you never can have to many of those things I guess" I thought and my adventure was back on. I parked in a garage near Westlake shopping center and just walked amongst the crowd, that alone was pretty fun. I have always wanted to get a photo of the Paramount theater so I walked over to see what looked like a good shot. I liked this view because of all the other neon lights in the frame. I've been wanting a shot of the green Camlin sign for some time as well and didn't realize it was so close so it worked out perfectly.
