Ha was added to the Red channel then combined to produce an RGB image. Then Ha + OIII was used a luminance layer and OIII colour blue was layered though a masking process in Ps to create separation.

Eight months after containment of the Woolsey Fire

Though burned-out stumps are still visible, this scene is in stark contrast to the scene last November when there was nothing but dirt and charred plants. Some of our chaparral plants are already 5 and 6 feet tall. And many of the oaks and sycamores are sprouting new leaves.

Happy Window Wednesday from a quick iPhone shot in Seattle, WA while waiting in line to see LCD Sound System at the Paramount last May and noticing the overall pattern and line in the immediate surroundings.

Has just finished, yet another remodel..:) Just in time for SXSW Festival. Downtown traffic is "Crazy" I went downtown today, and the only thing that saved me is I know the back streets.:) I volunteered to work it this year, so I won't be in here much in the coming week. I hope I haven't bitten off more than I can chew. Anyway, here's some history of the old place.

On October 11, 1915, the Paramount Theater, then called the Majestic Theater, opened its doors to the public in what would become a legacy of theatrical service to Austin and its surrounding communities. Built by Ernest Nalle in only eight months for a cost of $150,000, the Paramount was designed by John Eberson of Chicago but today the Paramount is one of less than 25 in existence across the country. Architecturally handsome and acoustically excellent.

The then Majestic Theater was originally conceived as a stage for vaudeville, a popular form of entertainment at the time. Many performers including magician Harry Houdini delighted audiences in these initial years of operation.

Before the Paramount could meet the same fate as so many other theatres like it, John M. Bernardoni, Charles Eckerman and Stephen L. Scott rescued it from obscurity. In 1973

In June of 1992, the Paramount was chosen as one of the theatres to rerun the all-time favorite Casablanca in celebration of the movie's 50-year anniversary. The Paramount is one of the few theatres left which showed Casablanca when it was originally released.

The Paramount has become one of Austin's most uniquely productive performing arts organizations that both presents and produces a broad range of drama, comedy, music, dance and spoken-word events, in downtown Austin's most commanding venues.

The Paramount Theatre is a concert venue in Denver, Colorado, located on Glenarm Place, near Denver's famous 16th Street Mall. The venue has a seating capacity of 1,870 but is a popular destination for large acts looking for a smaller concert setting. With spelling as Paramount Theater, the building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

The Paramount opened in 1930 as a movie theatre, part of the Paramount-Publix Theatre Circuit, the exhibition arm of Paramount Pictures. The theatre itself was designed by the Chicago architectural firm of Rapp and Rapp, with decorations by designer Vincent Mondo, murals by Louis Grell of Chicago. The original main entry to the theatre was at 519 16th Street, where an entrance lobby was cut through an existing commercial and office building.

The three-story office and commercial building featuring what was then the theatre's secondary entrance on Glenarm Place, now the main entrance, was designed by the local architect Temple H. Buell. Buell's design is a modernized, art deco interpretation of the Gothic style, executed largely in cast concrete and white terra cotta.

For several decades the Paramount enjoyed success as one of the premier movie houses in the Rocky Mountain region. Then, like other large movie theatres, its patronage declined as population and commerce dispersed into new suburban areas. By 1978, it was the last movie palace left in Denver and started hosting opera with a production of Madama Butterfly in October 1978 by the Denver Opera Company. The venue has survived and evolved and now plays host to numerous concert and performance acts. The theatre was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980, and the city of Denver recognized it as a historic landmark in 1988. Eight years later, Sinbad performed his HBO comedy special "Son of a Preacher Man" here.
