The Paramount Ranch Racetrack was featured in the 1957 film, “The Devil’s Hairpin,” starring Cornel Wilde. What’s left of the infamous racetrack can still be seen winding its way through the park.
The Paramount Theatre in downtown Kankakee, Illinois opened in 1931. In 1988 the theater was purchased by Classic Cinemas and the theater was renovated. In 1990 4 additional theater auditoriums were added to the building, but the addition included art deco elements to match the character of the original theater.
The signals they have keep coming & going! I should've bought that Bob Panich LED signal earlier, but now there's 2 1980s Aldridge 300mm signals.
Older Aldridge 300mm signal from 1985 out of the container.
Both have a few missing/broken parts.

I love the fake cracks in the sidewalk! It's one of the best backlots I've ever seen.
After growing up with Universal Studios, I was jaded to backlots until I visited Paramount Pictures. This lot is small, but stunning in its detail. The buildings are unique and look real from many angles. The architecture is not specific and quite varied, but those details just slayed me. Even the cracks in the sidewalk were planned by an art director. I stayed far too long, but adored the Paramount Pictures backlot.

The day has finally came. All of us have been waiting for this moment for a long time and now it's here.

When dry, a parking lot. When filled with water, this is the place of many a water scene, including the very lame one in Cheers when Diane jumped in the water after Sam's engagement ring.

The famous front gates of Paramount
movie studio - the only major studio still
operating within the actual confines of
geographical Hollywood - which is, of course,
distinct from metaphorical Hollywood.
Hollywood is both real and
imagined, and here both meet,
at this intersection of
Melrose and Gower,
at these famous gates,
on this old backlot where so
many movies have been shot -
this lot that was built on the
unpopulated land that belonged
to the Hollywood cemetery which
is directly north of it - with not even a wall
or fence separating.
These gates were most famously
featured in the film "Sunset Boulevard,"
though as any Hollywood historian knows-
those gates were actually the back gates of
the studio-
which are identical - off of Marathon Street.
Since 9-11, access to those gates by the
public has been denied. So
I shot these ones - for a feature
on Hollywood in Campus Circle magazine
which features other Hollywood landmarks,
such as the Chinese Theater
and Amoeba Record store.

Video Movie Guide gave "King David" 3 stars, described it as "impressive", and called it "one of the few responsible attempts at filming the Bible"; "Gymkata" was rated as a "turkey". The Paramount, located at King Square North, was for many years the city's most popular cinema.
I Love You, Man premiered at the Paramount Theatre during the South by Southwest festival in Austin.

Umm, in the interest of truthfulness, I have to point out a small defect. This is the result of a small miscalculation, no harm though, perfectly useful as is.
