My pre ride packing layout. I had one companion so we shared bike tools (which i brought), and he brought the camp stove and first aid. The first aid was a good thing since he got a little banged up as we exited the tunnel. My theory is that the his eyes had adjusted to the light at the end of the tunnel and he didn't notice crowned surface of the tueel and that pulled him into the wall. I patched up his bike while he patched his arm up.
Whilst in Troon with my wife this afternoon we stopped for an ice cream! Before parking the car we noticed these two young ladies playing their instruments on the street.
By the time I parked the car they were packing up their instruments but I did manage to grab this shot!

Nearly every item I'll be bringing along on my three month trip though Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras and Nicaragua. It all fits (minus the shoes, which go on my feet) in that blue pack. Ambitions to itemize this image (and to post expanded views of the first aid and toiletry kits) have been thwarted for now by my desire to get some sleep before tomorrow morning's flight to Guatemala City.
Assignment: To safely ship an 18 lb. Custom Steel Support for a 1955 (or '56) Classic Ford Victoria Hood Ornament,
so that it can withstand
(with certainty) the challenges
of UPS, on a transit traveling from Chicago to somewhere in Ontario CANADA.
the thread i used is some kind of silky craft thread, i wanted a loose stringy string look, it was slippy to work with
Packing for three weeks is hard enough. Packing for three weeks, three different climates *and* a wedding is torture for me. I managed to do it, however, with the help of Waitrose ziploc bags and a lot of cursing.
In two weeks I'll be backpacking the Lost Coast in the King Range Conservation Area. Three nights to enjoy 25 miles of pristine rugged coastline.
This is what is going into my pack so far, plus all my food will be in a rented bear canister that is required for that area (and that weighs about 3 pounds...ouch). I'm at 45 pounds right now (without the bear canister), which doesn't feel too bad, but it's 5 to 10 pounds more than I wanted to carry. I may have to make some sacrifices.
Things not in the photo that may be going.
- IPod.
- Small bar of deoderant
- Some kind of coffee.
- Ibuprofen and allergy pills.
- Maybe some more snacks.
- Maybe one pair of long thermal underwear, top and bottom, if the weather is looking cold in the forecast.
List of potential sacrifices:
- SB-28 flash and the radio trigger set.
- board shorts.
- one of the two extra shirts.
- tent footprint.
Moved out of my tokyo apartment today. My whole life these past two months basically fits into this suitcase, this box, and my backpack
I'm moving back to London next week! Ack! Packing is slowly happening, and I found this in the process. I wore this exact outfit to my college graduation (at crazy hippie schools, we don't need no stinkin' cap and gown) and gave a speech.
Dress: my mamacita
Red patent leather belt: Claire's or some such
Black patent peep toes: Lane Bryant (wide width y'all)

I totally underestimated how long this would take. I've finished packing ONE envelope so far. About 99 to go.. I'll be up for a while! ;-P

After a photoshoot along one of the corridors of the Sheikh Zayed Mosque in Abu Dhabi, I pack up my equipment (which has become such a good friend to me during this trip).
Excluding the camera which was apparently stolen by Sofi, who took this photograph :)
she claims the effect was purely accidental, but it's still cool!
the camera exposed for the outside and blew out the inside, not Photoshopped, all in-camera :)
