sticky training before x-mas

Macro Mondays

Well I think I finally got this right after discovering my cropping tool wasn't working. So maybe 3 times the charm eh?

The name of my hood in Orlando, FL is College Park. Just west of us are railroad tracks and just west of that is ALL UNDER CONSTRUCTION. Wonderful things going on developing this historic area that used to be a main Citrus packing and shipping area. Here's a link to read more about this wonderful place. packingdistrictorlando.com/

Anyway, awful now, roads and all under construction but were hopeful that someday it will be finished. This is a version of the old pavilion that was there. It too is not finished yet, but I couldn't resist a shot. Coming home from the outside Farmer's Market.

Gypsy Time is Approaching Fast!

If you haven't heard, the Gypsy Campers are ready to hit the open grid once again! We're packing up and moving out on January 1st 2022!! More details to come!

The Gypsy Camp is a group of adventurers and travelers from all over the world looking to explore Second Life the best way possible, by camping out at a new sim every week and fully exploring the lands the way the owners intended! There is no official group, just a bunch of people coming together at different places to enjoy the region collectively. All are always welcome.

On our first week back, we'll be heading to the Mountains! We've rented some cabins for us to share and are looking forward to an exciting week of games, snowboarding, snowball fights, and ofc some hot chocolate and music at the ski lodge!

Start packing your skiis, boards, sweaters, and food! You won't need much this week but campers do typically have their own tents and sleeping bags (though never a requirement! All travel is always free!)

As always, everyone is welcome to join us. We welcome all new friends and nobody is ever obligated to stay! Camp one week, leave the next if you want. Its your trip too!

"Gypsy is also used as a description for a nomadic or "free-spirited" person"

monologue from 'La nuit juste avant les forêts' by Bernard-Marie Koltès

forgive my translation:

we would have to be someplace else without anyone around, my friend

when I come to tell you what I have to tell you, feel good like lying on the grass, something like that

that one no longer has to move with the shadow of the trees.

Then I would say: 'here I'm fine, here is my house, I lie down and greet you'.

But here, my friend, it's impossible, never seen a place where they leave you alone and say hello.

We have to send you away, they tell you, go there, you go there

Go over there, take your ass off there

and you're packing your bag, the job is somewhere else,

always somewhere else you have to go looking for it,

there is no time to lie down and to let go, there is not

time to explain and say 'i'll say goodbye'.

Kicked in the ass they would send you away, the work is there, farther and farther, up to Nicaragua.

If you want to work, you have to move, never that you can say 'this is my house and I'll say goodbye'

so much so that when I leave a place I always have the impression that this will be my home,

more than the one I'm going to live.

When they kick your ass again, you go away again

Where you go, you're always more foreign, less and less at home.

And when they kick your ass, you go away again

when you turn to look back, friend, it's always the desert.

Let's stop once and let's say 'fuck you'

I do not move anymore, you must listen to me

if we lie down on the grass for once and take all the time

that you tell your story, those coming from Nicaragua

that we tell ourselves that we are all, more or less foreign

but that's enough now, we're going to hear, calmly, all we have to say

So yes, you understand that they do not give a shit about us.

I stopped, I listened, I said to myself: 'I do not work anymore'

as long as you do not give a fuck about me.

What's the use of Nicaragua's coming up here and I'm going over there

if on all sides the same story.

When I worked again, I spoke to everyone kicked in the ass that landed here

to find work and they have been listening to me.

I have been listening to those from Nicaragua who have explained to me how it is from them

Over there there is an old general, who stays all day and all night at the edge of a forest

they bring him food because he does not have to move

who shoots on everything that moves

they bring him the ammunition when he does not have any more.

They talked to me about a general with his soldiers surrounding the forest

everything that moves becomes a target

everything that appears at the edge of the forest

all they notice that it does not have the same color as the trees

and that does not move the same way

I've been listening to this and I've been told that it's the same thing on all sides

the more I get kicked in the ass and the more I'll be a stranger

they end up here and I'll end up there

over there where everything that moves is hidden in the mountains

I have listened to all this and I said to myself: "I do not move any more, if there is no work I do not work

if work has to make me crazy and I have to kick my ass, I do not work anymore

I want to lie down, once and for all, I want to explain myself, I want the grass

the shadow of the trees, I want to scream, I want to be able to scream, even if they then shoot at me, they do that anyway,

if you do not agree, if you open your mouth,

you must hide at the bottom of the forest. But then it's better this way

at least I will have told you what I must tell you.

Beach goers preparing to leave after sundown

Packing everything up here at home- I'm moving to France next week. What a change, eh?

There will be lots of random travel over the next few months but that's the long and short of it.

So much origami here to be dealt with... the above is one of the boxes full of things to be sent over.

Looking forward to this new chapter in my life! Thanks to all of you whose support and assistance made all of this possible.

See you all across the pond!

Detailed image of splayed-end Garlock-brand asbestos packing material.

There are literally several thousand distinct asbestos products and respective applications collectively known as "asbestos products"; this image depicts but a single brand and one type of an often overlooked asbestos material: packing.

Essentially a rather durable rope-like material, asbestos packings can range considerably in thickness and construction (e.g.- braided, twisted, rubber/metal composite, round, square, etc.). Most packings are typically handled by dry cutting with saws or serrated knives and are usually crudely extracted from mechanical parts by picking the asbestos material apart piece-by-piece with simple corkscrew-type implements, which creates potential conditions for airborne asbestos exposure.

There are a few other applications for packing materials, however asbestos packing was most commonly used for creating internal seals around industrial pump shafts and pipe valve stems. As much as 1/2-pound (or more) of asbestos packing could be installed inside each pump or pipe valve housing and are oftentimes not even considered during asbestos surveys or exposure assessments primarily due to their inherent concealment.

I've been saving all sorts of packing paper with the hope of coming up with an idea to use it all.

The Adventure

Honey and the gang are going on vacation! The Faewylds has been closed for the weekend for a private family vacation. Don’t worry though, it reopens on the 8th, with a full rebuild that Honey is so excited for everyone to see.

More updates to come!

On Christmas break, gonna be doing some videos and taking some pictures so stay tuned for some new stuff.

It's weird to think that a lot of these I've taken apart since this pic was taken.

I'm going on holiday! Hurrah! Hope I remembered everything. Thanks p.b. : )

After all the trips that I've done, I still don't like the idea of packing.

I don't seem to enjoy confrontational moments like these. Like deciding what goes in and not, what gets to be taken and which one gets left behind.

But at the same time, it gives me so much power to yield.

Ha, all these just in the act of packing.

Trying to travel light!
