A scene from a Manhattan apartment in 1966, 5 am, Barbie is getting ready to travel around the globe as a Pan Am stewardess.
One of our club members had developed this time saving packing technique for his trains. The idea is to throw the model into a random box on to our whatever else is in there. The only downside is that there may be some extra time required to prepare the model for display again afterwards.
A mess of feelings, squashed in a corner of her mind for now, much like the suitcase that lay at her feet which was positively stuffed with clothing and shoes to prepare for her trip.
She'd exhale and toss a pair of nude pumps over her shoulder.
"I suppose I'd best brush up on my undetectable extension charm" she'd mutter to herself with a sigh, reaching over her shoulder to draw her wand on her bed.

So yesterday we finally started packing and we only have 15 more days left to be out of here. Unfortunately we are kind of going to have to move twice, first into Storage and then on the 30th into the House. The Cats and Dogs are already starting to freak out because they see the boxes being stacked and the House getting emptier and emptier...
Kiska sneaked in to my case during the packing for the Christmas holidays, perhaps hoping for an overseas trip.
She stayed there for about an hour - quiet and stealthy - but probably knowing that she wouldn't be coming with us :(

A hand held macro picture of the new style recycled cardboard packing, to replace buble wrap where possible.
While we were packing yesterday, this little spider crawled from a box we'd saved in the attic. Of course, I ran for my camera.
Despite its eight legs, the spider did not help us pack.
Eliason Livestock and Meat Packing, a Logan landmark is set to move on to make run for family housing. It has been around in the Logan, Utah area since the 1930's.
I'm going to see a friend for the weekend. I pack a lot, apparently.

Note: I tried 3 different ways to get this enhanced a little bit and re-post if for New Year's Eve of 2023, turning into 2024. None of my ways worked; so here it is without any enhancement that I may have learned how to do a bit of in the last 54 years (1969 to 2023 or Becoming 1970 to 2024) Arrgh!
In about an hour after I wrote this first paragraph, I was able to do some minor enhancements, like tiny bit of saturation, etc.
John was my first husband, and the father of our only two children, a son and a daughter. This picture was before they were born. I posted this picture 8 years ago on Flickr, but I don't think once every 7 or 8 years is too often.
He did not want to go to this party; but I was very extroverted and finally talked him into it. We had a blast.
This photo was probably taken with a Kodak Instamatic Camera. This was New Year's Eve, 1969, so 47 years ago tonight, December 31, 2016 (updated when I posted this on New Years Eve of 2018 to say 49 years ago) and updated one more time on New Year's Eve of 2023 becoming New Year's Day (well itis still dark out ~~ night, but I think you get the picture of 2024 -- See first couple of sentences.
The late John Joseph Carroll was a patrolman on the Oakland, Alameda County, California USA Police Department. Before that he was in the United States Marine Corps. He died years after we were divorced; so I am not a widow, but my children lost their father when they were fairly young, and Anna, my only grandchild so far, never got to meet her Grandfather at all. Actually, she never got to meet her grandfather on her father's side either.
Dave, for the Flickr **Soul of a Photograph** pool I think the soul of this photo is a rather introverted Oakland, California police officer who did not want to go to this New Years Party. I talked him into going and we had a really fun time ~
This is only the third time in 53-54 years I've run this; so if anyone doesn't like it repeating in their group, just delete it or ask me and I will. I may try to enhance it a bit now that it is here, but I tried before midnight and failed 3 different ways and times; so, I'm not super confident I can do any little things. I just wanted to do some minor touch-up, crop a bit and saturate the colors a tiny bit. OK, I did get to finally do that a little bit.
This will likely remain in some of the groups it has been in before, but I will probably add some new ones tonight.
On a visit to Kaiapoi looking for Giraffes November 28, 2014 New Zealand.
Kaiapoi is located approximately 17 kilometres north of central Christchurch, Kaiapoi takes its name from the Māori pā (fortified village) which was built just north of the site of the current town around the year 1700 by the Ngāi Tahu chief Turakautahi. Eventually to become the largest fortified village in the South Island it lay on the site of a stronghold of an earlier tribe, Waitaha whose history and traditions Ngāi Tahu eventually adopted.

St.Patrick's, Kaiapoi North and Clackvillie Primary Schools.
Giant fibreglass Giraffe sculptures, reaching 2.5 metres high, are now standing tall on the streets, parks and public spaces of Christchurch and surrounding areas until 24 January 2015. At the end of the public art exhibition, in February, the Giraffes will be auctioned so we can all be part of raising money for local charities and turn the city’s Summer of fun into a helping hand for those who are in need.
