it makes me really angry that i have to post this. oh well, that's a 365 for ya, i guess. packing hours before i left for california.
I dusted off my old Sony a200. (I hadn't used it in the last 2 years.) It seems to take a better image than I remember. Hopefully that means I've learned a bit about cameras and photography in that time :)
Finally received the passports back from the India Consulate with our visas. Frustrating, inscrutable process fraught with bureaucracy… Now I can start preparing the camera equipment which always seems to take longer than packing my clothing!

All the stuff that I took for our around the world trip. Not shown: ipod, camera, baseball hat, everyday/hiking shoes.
And in more than one box too! Packing up the house this week in advance of a house move.
Today I packed away all of Joannas stuff - clothes, wigs etc etc. De-princessing on a major scale.
That's pretty much everything I packed for Kili, minus a few things. I ended up cutting a bit of weight by leaving behind a few extra clothes (shown here). It turned out to be the right decision. We were only allowed to have 15 kg (33 lbs) for our duffel bag, which the porters would carry.

I wanted to keep my entire pack weight to under sixty-pounds. That may seen crazy to most long-term backpackers, but the fact that I need to bring my dSLR and laptop with me easily adds fifteen-pounds to whatever else I wanted to pack.

- BlackBerry
- Canon SD900 IS Camera
- Moleskine Journal
- Stuff Sacks I used to organise items within my pack

Everything I'm taking for my trip to NY. I'm going to be gone three nights, traveling for a wedding which necessitates some dressier clothing. I find traveling in a jacket and nice shirt gets me better service, always.
Not pictured: iPhone 4 (took the picture with), iPod Touch 4th Gen (for watching media on the plane and such; lightweight and doesn't use up iPhone battery).
