I swear I'm NOT an amenity bag hoarder. They work perfectly as "packing cubes". Makes things easy, neat and tidy.
This gentleman had more than one fishing rod on the go and a bright red pail to stash his fish in. I enjoy candid images of people going about their daily activities and so I was fortunate to get this shot of this fellow packing up his fishing gear as the sun was beginning to set.
As always, better on black. Please click 'L'.

Leaving tomorrow for Paris, but still have some packing to do. Really looking forward to the photos in the City of Lights.

The Seattle Flickrites have a weekly challenge for a topic, and this week is 'Heat.' Many people will not remember that 'Heat' is a term used for a firearm, often called a 'Heater.' So, 'Packing Heat' means you would be carrying a concealed weapon.
My weapon of choice in this shoot was a Rock Island Armory Match Grade 1911-A1 semi-auto pistol. It carries 8 rounds in the magazine and 'one in the pipe.'
Strobist info:

YN560II at 1/16th power, shoot through white umbrella, camera left, high up, angled down

This is my friend Steve Kaposy packing up his drums at the end of our spontaneous bistro gig/birthday party. It was Steve's sister Carolines birthday and my friend Yiorgos and I were invited to bring guitar and keys to play at this little bistro in the West End on Denman Street.
It turned out to be a friendly and charming little place and Caroline sang and Yiorgos and I kept up by the seat of our pants. We had cake and Jagermeister shooters and the owner and staff at the bistro and the regulars who dropped in were just a gas...
But the highlight of the evening was playing with Steve. He's just an awesome drummer, even playing quiet lounge type stuff his time is snappy and precise and his playing so fluid, deft and playful.
He has a really nice old 1968 Ludwig kit with the old 'Ringo' style logo on the bass drum head.
"My kit is older than me" he laughed.
What a nice time.
Pretty dull, but all I have time for tonight. I'm trying to fit a few more pairs of shoes into my suitcase.

Yotsuba is all packed, but her pets are still packing. Amber has her own suitcase with flowers on it. Radar is just packing food (for himself of course). All Bentley needs is his big stuffed Pikachu and he will be happy.
Design creation and 3D visualization of packing for stones. Manufacture of several variants of breadboard models from PMMA.
Several years ago at the Gem & Mineral Show, I spotted a man with dozens of these boxes -- handmade shipping crates for his wares, stones and gemstones from Madagascar.
I asked him how much for the box and he said something like $1000. I said not the stones, just the box itself. He gave me the "whatever -- you're nuts, lady" look (that look is universal) and said $25.
The interior is lined with newspaper ads for stereo systems.

Charlotte community members help with the Greenpeace hot air balloon "One World" in Charlotte, N.C., Tuesday, May 5, 2015, where it flew with banners that demand Duke stop blocking access to solar energy. The crew has to sit on the envelope to press the air out of it for packing and transportation. Photo by Jason Miczek/Greenpeace
