Order 66

Hello,

I built this moc ages ago (it's not there anymore😉).

It shows an unknown Jedi with clones from an also unknown battalion.

It is so small because I only have a few parts in lime green and dark green.

Bye!

Candid bar shot, Grenada.

Law enforcement in Grenada is the responsibility of the Royal Grenada Police Force, or RGPF. The RGPF enforces criminal, immigration, and maritime laws. It is also held responsible for seaport security and fire services. With 15 police stations and 900 staff members, the force responds to over 15,000 crimes and incidents per year. The Royal Grenada Police Force also has a paramilitary force for national defense.

Behind the Disney Store registers, after I bought my Jasmine doll and Aladdin tsum tsums. Unused LE Jasmine voucher cards and line cards. Store lighting.

I got to a local mall about 7:40 am, and went to the Disney Store to wait for it to open at 10 am. They had the display Jasmine doll and a promo placard on a shelf behind the counter, and bins full of Aladdin tsums on the floor behind the counter. There was already a man and his young daughter in line ahead of me. They were waiting for the Aladdin tsum tsums, and didn't know about the Jasmine doll. The next person in line was with a friend, and worked at Disneyland. He was also there for the tsums, and didn't know anything about the doll. But he was curious, and after talking to him about the LE doll line, he decided to get one for a "friend." LOL. Later a fellow collector that I knew joined the line, and we chatted for awhile. Then a regular at the LE doll releases and his family came and we also chatted. He was very surprised by how many people were there, but was relieved when he found out that almost all of them were for the tsum tsums. The line was getting very long. Security came around 9:30 and told us to stand up.

At about 9:45 a CM came out and told us the ground rules for the release. Then she gave out line cards for Jasmine. They had 20 dolls, and she gave out 16 cards to those waiting. Naturally, I was #1. Right after the opening ceremony, we formed two lines. One was strictly for tsum tsums (which was where the original line was at). The other, much shorter line was for the Jasmine dolls, and we could also order Aladdin tsum tsums at the same time. I got my doll, and the CM never asked me for the line card. This the first line card I've been allowed to keep. Afterwards I was allowed to take photos of the doll. But it was very cramped behind the registers, and I didn't want to get in the way, so I only took a couple of photos.

I then went to another local Disney Store, and was lucky enough to get another Jasmine, for a fellow collector. They had 16 dolls, and sold 8 of them before I got there. I also took some photos of the doll, using flash this time, as there were annoying shadows across Jasmine's face.

New wave icons New Order and Pet Shop Boys are bringing their hits, like “Blue Monday” and “West End Girls,” to U.S. and Canadian arenas from Sept. 17 through Oct. 16 as part of their 13-concert “Unity Tour.” That includes huge concerts at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on Sept. 23, Philadelphia’s TD Pavilion at the Mann on Sept. 25 and New York City’s Madison Square Garden on Sept. 28.

This is the one that was sent to London during the riots last year

I'll have my coffee out here, maid Daisy, so make sure you get ALL the cat fur off of my cushion. Your side can wait...you won't be sitting anytime soon. 😜

The First Order has captured Poe Dameron and See-Threepio!

Kylo Ren: So, Poe Dameron we meet again! This time there will be no escape for you!

Threepio: Master Ben! Is it truly you under that horrid mask? It's me, See-Threepio, your old babysitter! You probably didn't recognize me because of the red arm. I can't believe some of the terrible things I've heard about you lately, especially what you did to your poor father! Surely it can't be true!

Why, I remember you as being such a good child. Do you remember how you used to beg me to read "The Three Little Gamoreans" to you? You used to get so scared when we got to the part with the Big Bad Rancor that you used to hide under the sheets! I can't believe that same child is capable of doing the dreadful things I've heard, oh! It's simply too much to process!

Kylo Ren: Shut up,Threepio! If you ever mention any of that again in front of my men, I'll turn you into scrap! Take them way!

What I like about this photo is the peaceful feeling of it. What I don't like is the fact that I was unable to capture the sky the way I wanted. Something I would do to improve the photo would be to come at a different time of day or figure out how to use my camera settings to adjust the light.

As soon as I saw that the Cody and 501st helmets were restocked I ordered right away and I decided to pick up a Fives helmet too. Expect to see these in some upcoming builds.

None for trade

Photos taken in store of the Snow Gear Anna Limited Edition Pre-Order Display Doll. The first store I went to had about 7 adults waiting to pre-order the new LE Anna and Elsa dolls when the store opened at 10:00 AM. The store had 13 of each doll available, so it was no sweat getting both dolls.

Unfortunately the store did not have a LE Elsa display doll, nor did they have the pre-order placard to go with the doll. They placed the Anna doll on the check out counter, so I could take a close look at the doll and take photos. It was rather cramped quarters, so I didn't take long shots of the boxed doll.

They also had the Animators' Kristoff doll for sale. So I bought one of him, in addition to my pre-orders of the LE Anna and Elsa, and the pre-order of the Frozen Blu-ray/DVD combo pack.

I went to a second nearby Disney Store, looking to get a look at LE Elsa, but no such luck. They had already sold out of the Elsa, so they had taken the display doll down. They did have Anna still displayed, so I took a few photos of her. She was on a high shelf, so I could take decent long views of the doll and the promo placard. While I was taking photos of Anna, a person got the last pre-order available, so they took down the display doll and placard just after I finished taking photos.

Slender Grasshopper (Order Orthoptera), Huay Tueng Tao Lake, Chiang Mai, Thailand

My brief visit to Lostwithiel was planned some weeks before the event, my hope was to have a last bash at photographing a train of CDAs on a china clay service in the county, but the last CDAs were withdrawn on 11th August, so instead on 22nd August 2023 I had a set of JIAs working 6G09, the 13.02 Goonbarrow Junction to Carne Point, Fowey led by EWS liveried 66199.

3.

It was wonderful to give another talk at The School of Life earlier this month. Many thanks to Nick Turpin and the participants of the Photographing London weekend workshop for a really inspirational afternoon.

I am impressed at the quality of work at these sessions. Once again it's a real lesson for me in setting oneself parameters or a challenge. Inevitably I search for a metaphor in these instances and the mental and physical effort required is certainly of Olympian proportions.

Two marvellous images are worth noting from Laura Fitzpatrick and Tony White. Each in their own way exemplify for me the essence of street photography.

Tony's image, and style now I'm glad to have discovered more of his work, has a real warmth and a resonance with the sensitivity of Tony Ray-Jones. There's certainly an undefinable Englishness to this picture which is a joy.

In contrast Laura's photograph at the foot of Nelson's Column is a tour de force of geometry and timing. It feels so perfect that it ironically touches on contemporary practices of digital manipulation and staged flash mobs, even though the image is entirely of the moment, taken as found with no intervention other than being in the right place at the right time and having the presence of mind to take the picture.

Easy, eh?

The Best Street Photograph Ever

Although we may all have favourite Street Photographers they may not always be the author of our favourite Street Photograph.

It might be a revealing exercise to suggest and vote up or down single Street Photographs to see which images bubble to the top and which images fall to the bottom.

In this way we might get a sense of the popular opinion on what qualities might be inherent in ‘The Best Street Photograph Ever’.

This is a bit of fun but at very least it should make for the creation of a fascinating collection of Street Photographs.

Please feel free to take part, vote images up or down and upload those you think should be included from any era and any Street Photographer.

Images will be removed that don’t fall into a loose definition of a Street Photograph
