Shortly after arriving into Maryborough from Wycheproof with elephant-style S classes S313 & S301, the driver holds the train order in his hand as he discusses plans with the fireman for the run to Ballarat and ultimately Newport with train 8198 and the return leg of Steamrail's 2024 Members Christmas Train. 15/12/24
This is the second shot of northbound Milwaukee Road train #77 at Delmar tower that C&EI operator Robert Mcquown took. This one is from the roof of the tower and is looking south down the Terre Haute line towards the Kankakee River, which the train is clearing. Photobombing the shot COMPLETELY is the train order signal, which is displaying a "grab orders on the fly" indication. This semaphore train order blades were here until at least 1977, but removed by 1978. The northbound home signal is at bottom, left of center next to the semaphore mast.

I just love working on maps. They provide inspiration and a good background in one package. I don't think this map will be guiding anyone very far again now that she's art. I'm thinking the best she can hope for is to guide people to the living room...
Now, From Russia With Love is, of course, the title of a 1963 James Bond movie starring Sean Connery but here I'm referring to the phenomenon of mail order brides - of which the countries of the former Soviet Union provide such a bevy of such available ladies (so the internet tells me!) Hence the use of a map of the region.
Anwyay, this is a map of the good ol' USSR and this is represented by the hammer and sickle tattooed across our bride-to-be's heart to show her proletariat upbringing. Currently she has made her way west and is now betrotherd to a man in Birmingham, Alabama.
She has been constructed using acrylic paint, charcoal, paint pens and glitter. All this on a map! She's 48 cm x 60 cm in size and signed on reverse.

Hello,
I built this moc ages ago (it's not there anymore😉).
It shows an unknown Jedi with clones from an also unknown battalion.
It is so small because I only have a few parts in lime green and dark green.
Bye!
Candid bar shot, Grenada.
Law enforcement in Grenada is the responsibility of the Royal Grenada Police Force, or RGPF. The RGPF enforces criminal, immigration, and maritime laws. It is also held responsible for seaport security and fire services. With 15 police stations and 900 staff members, the force responds to over 15,000 crimes and incidents per year. The Royal Grenada Police Force also has a paramilitary force for national defense.

So a bunch of the ball joints finally arrived. I’ve actually been buying from different sources over the past week hoping at least one of them arrived earlier than the other. Turns out though, they ALL came on the same day.
One of the things I was looking forward to was the “Light Flesh” ball joints which luckily match my Twilight dolls really well so both Victoria and Jasper got elbows and wrists.
I also got some Obitsu brand Flesh coloured ball joints too and while they’re only comprised of two parts instead of three they’re functionally the same as the Hobby Base ball joints. I used some 8mm ones for Steve Trevor’s hands, and some to give my Curvy Barbie jointed ankles and her original feet bringing her down closer to her original height.
I also got some dark grey ball joints in hopes that it doesn’t look too bad with my Zig Zag fashionista doll. The colour match is waaaay off but I like how close the shades are to each other. I may try tinting the joints with brown ink to better match her.
And I also got some 1/100 scale jointed “Mechanical Hands” by Hobby Base for my Obitsu/Allan hybrid. I’ll do a separate post for him but yeah.
New wave icons New Order and Pet Shop Boys are bringing their hits, like “Blue Monday” and “West End Girls,” to U.S. and Canadian arenas from Sept. 17 through Oct. 16 as part of their 13-concert “Unity Tour.” That includes huge concerts at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on Sept. 23, Philadelphia’s TD Pavilion at the Mann on Sept. 25 and New York City’s Madison Square Garden on Sept. 28.
I'll have my coffee out here, maid Daisy, so make sure you get ALL the cat fur off of my cushion. Your side can wait...you won't be sitting anytime soon. 😜

We sat at the counter right in front of the cook. Its always fun to watch a good short order cook that can balance and breeze through multiple orders. This gentleman seemed experienced and had several breakfast meals cooking at the same time. This image was taken outside the restaurant.

The First Order has captured Poe Dameron and See-Threepio!
Kylo Ren: So, Poe Dameron we meet again! This time there will be no escape for you!
Threepio: Master Ben! Is it truly you under that horrid mask? It's me, See-Threepio, your old babysitter! You probably didn't recognize me because of the red arm. I can't believe some of the terrible things I've heard about you lately, especially what you did to your poor father! Surely it can't be true!
Why, I remember you as being such a good child. Do you remember how you used to beg me to read "The Three Little Gamoreans" to you? You used to get so scared when we got to the part with the Big Bad Rancor that you used to hide under the sheets! I can't believe that same child is capable of doing the dreadful things I've heard, oh! It's simply too much to process!
Kylo Ren: Shut up,Threepio! If you ever mention any of that again in front of my men, I'll turn you into scrap! Take them way!

{Ronda was kicked out of the Flex Hotel for nonpaymet of rent, and all of her belongings: all of her clothes, her makeup, everything, is being kept by the hotel until she pays what she owes them. She and Melvin have taken a room to be paid on a daily basis at the BestWay Inn at the corner of 14th and the Freeway}
************
My camera's exposure meter tells me the light in the room is too low to get photographs of the track marks on Ronda's arm—the first order of business we've agreed upon for the day—so I check the light at the window and ask her to come over. In silence she pushes up a sleeve of the same holey white sweater I assume she's been wearing for six days now, resting her forearm, inner side up, on the top of the radiator.
The telltale ridges that run from her wrist to the crook of her forearm stand out clearly for my shot. After two snaps, I raise the camera, aiming it at her down-turned face. "Look this way."
"You said nothing about face today." Her protest is swift, almost angry.
"Well—[keeping the camera at my eye]—look this way."
"I just woke up!"
But she looks anyway—looks into my camera like few people do: very directly and openly.
But after just one click, she gets up. "I need to buy me a sweater," she says, hooking a finger through one of the holes in the one she's wearing, "and some more jeans."
"Well"—I set my camera aside—"you just lost everything. How often does that happen?"
Ronda glances at Melvin, who has just turned over, his eyes open. "How often has it happened since we've been together, Melvin? About three times?"
"Mmhmm."
"It happens to me all the time," says Ronda, laughing. "It's been going on like this for years. Thank God most of the stuff I own—decorations and all?—is stuff I found in junk piles."

Personal Quotes
"Everyone argues, then we do what I say." - 1987
It costs a fortune to look this trashy.
Never trust a man who tells you it's from the heart, never trust a man smoking a cigar, never trust a cowboy or a man who wears shades...
I could go onstage, unzip my pants, and hang my dick out, and people would think it was a statement about something.
"Marriage is this grand madness, and I think if people knew that, they would perhaps take it more seriously. The reason why there's operas and novels and pop tunes written about love is because it's such an extraordinary thing, not because it's commonplace, and yet that's what you're told, you grow up with this idea that it's the norm." Hot Press, March 2000
"Overcoming my dad telling me that I could never amount to anything is what has made me the megalomaniac that you see today" - recalling his late father's influence
"I love art too much to call these anything other than marks on paper" - on his paintings
I think Abba have a pure joy to their music and that's what makes them extraordinary.
U2 is sort of song writing by accident really. We don't really know what we're doing and when we do, it doesn't seem to help.
When I write, it's there. There's no staring at a blank page.
[about The Edge] He's an owl!
[talking about The Edge] And that's not always a given - that he would want to play guitar. He might be into keyboards this album, and you have Larry and Adam going "oh fuck, he's into the keyboards now. We'll never get a rock song out of him".
Look, I'm sick of Bono and I AM Bono.
It would be wrong for me to say, 'Yes, we can change the world with a song.' But every time I try writing, that's where I'm at. I'm not stupid. I'm aware of the futility of rock & roll music, but I'm also aware of its power.
I represent a lot of people [in Africa] who have no voice at all... They haven't asked me to represent them. It's cheeky but I hope they're glad I do.
The world is more malleable than you think. We can bend it into a better shape. Ask big questions, demand big answers.
I hate the idea of being in the UK Hall of Fame to be honest with you. We don't want to be in any Hall of Fame until we're retired or dead.
I know sometimes you shouldn't judge your audience by the fans you meet, especially if they're in a flowerbed in your garden at home but U2 fans are different, they're very humane.
Brian Wilson believes in angels. I do too and you only have to listen to the string arrangement of 'God Only Knows' for fact and proof of angels.
Great music is written by people who are either running toward or away from God.
On wearing his trademark sunglasses: Without them, I'm an amorphous mass.
What about this idea of liberty? Not liberty for its own sake, but liberty for some larger end - not just freedom from oppression, but freedom of expression and worship. Freedom from want, and freedom from fear because when you are trapped by poverty, you are not free. When trade laws prevent you from selling the food you grow, you are not free. When you are dying of a mosquito bite for lack of a bed net, you are not free. When you are hungry in a world of plenty, you are not free. And when you are a monk in Burma this very week, barred from entering a temple because of your gospel of peace, it is an affront to the thug regime, well then none of us are truly free.
I'm the Fidel Castro of speechifying. We've got a few hours, don't we?
On visiting the White House: I'd like to think that I've always left the White House with more than I arrived. Not only budget commitments, cutlery, silverware, candelabras, one or two Bush family photos... OK, one Gilbert Stuart portrait of George Washington - it was in the bathroom, nobody could see-- I'll give it back.
The stage is but a platform shoe.
On receiving an honorary British knighthood: You have permission to call me anything you want - except sir, all right? Lord of lords, your demigodness, that'll do.
(On Live Aid (1985) (TV)) That day changed my life and started me on this incredible adventure, that is the possibility that our generation could be remembered for something other than the Internet ... the first generation to eradicate extreme poverty ... I want to spend the rest of my life doing that, the band mouth off and complain, but they support me.
[on Elvis Presley] Elvis' music has been my greatest inspiration.
I'm representing the poorest and the most vulnerable people. I'm throwing a punch, and the fist belongs to people who can't be in the room, whose rage, whose anger, whose hurt I represent.
We're delighted, of course, that people are owning up to being U2 fans.
The problem with voting is no matter who you vote for, the government always gets in.
