Marine Raiders with Marine Forces Special Operations Command conduct high-value target detainment and evacuation operations during a multipurpose canine handler training course hosted by 1st Marine Raider Battalion on Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, California, Dec. 18, 2019. The handlers learned to conduct raids, helicopter insertions and advanced veterinary care during the course. MPC handlers integrate with Marine Special Operations Teams to support global SOF operations. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Lance Cpl. Angela Wilcox)

In the beginning, the fig was made for the Lego Group: The Battlefront. Unfortunately two things happened: My life got busier and the group basically died. The year is supposed to be 2045 or something by the way.

The Russian Operator features very light stealth armor, meant mostly for assassins to use. However, a red targeting lens and tactical elbow pads and arm guards are present, which differs from the assassin uniform. A regular Tokarev pistol is brandished on the side, as part of the regulations that ALL russian service men and women carry at least one sidearm. The Operator sports a snow storm camoflage, first used and adapted by Vasili Kravchuk during the Koreapanese-Russian war in 2018. a heating system in installed behind the vest, along with recycling batteries to recharge the system. The rifle is a modified version of the standard assault rifle, having a scope and silencer attachment.

This fig took about 5 hours of work, mostly because I kept on changing parts. The faceplate is entirely sculpted, and the red targeting system is a piece of action figure sunglasses with a piece of needle at the tip to allow fro removal and movement. The vest (and the whole figure in fact) was inspired by Richard. The vest is a cut-up credit card with bits and pieces glued on. The mag pouches, the leg side pouch, the belt pouch, and the knee and elbow pads are sculpted. Th rifle is an interesting Sci-Fi gun that I picked up at Brickfair, with a Si-Dan silencer and a tiny tactical scope. A russian patch is on the left arm, while 3 armor piercing rounds are on the right. Lastly, the fig holsters a BrickArms Tokarev .

This is one of the figures I promised I would upload.

Netherlands, Noord-Brabant, Tilburg, Museum for Contemporary Art 'De Pont', Grosse Geisten (Thomas Schütte), Visitor (slightly cut from the right & bottom). (For the six word story group)

De Pont Museum for Contemporary Art uses the converted (by Benthem Crouwel Architects - 1992) wool-spinning mill 'Thomas de Beer'.

The dimensions of the group are: ca 246x187x112 / 238x200x131 / 250x100x110 cm - the third statue isn't included in this image.

More about ‘Grosse Geisten’ (info supplied by the museum):

"Though enormous in size these 'Gross Geisten' or 'Big Spirits' nonetheless convey a sense of lightness with their aluminum bodies. The work possesses the monumental character of the statue, but at the same time the appearance of large dolls (or next generation Robocops, AZ) . Thomas Schütte is fascinated with statues that are meant to commemorate all sorts of important people. With these statues he seems to ridicule this kind of public monuments (and he borrows from popular cinematic culture, AZ). The big spirits stare about in amazement and appear to be somewhere lost, as though they seek some sort of orientation is space. Those who look at these glistening apparitions, see themselves reflected is distorted 'fun house' mirror (ah, again, AZ) In this way Schütte also makes an ironic comment on our self image".

So by the framing and the title I changed the storytelling here. Couldn’t resist.

First Transpennine Express and Northern Rail now have new operators in the shape of TransPennine Express (solely First, no Keolis) and Arriva Rail North, transferring on the 1st April 2016. No fool joke here. Here is a photo taken before the changes, when the prior operators were still there earlier in March 2016, during a visit to Manchester.

A young, tufted capuchin.

It's a real bandit. Come not too close ... if he gets the chance, he steals from you!

Besides nuts, the capuchin also eats fruit, insects and larvae, eggs and young birds, frogs, lizards, and even bats. They are also known to chase cats!!!

A possible standard for the Ravage? Just made some combos and I thought they turned out rather nicely!

It's been upgraded a little and was also cleaned up, with edgy marks and misplaced paint. To be honest, I think the paint will pull it to amazing-ness. Let's hope.

Not a single rough spot on these babies.

The business end of a Yamaha DX7 Synthesizer

VSCO Film Kodak Portra 160 NC

I decided to remake one of my older builds, but with a greater knowledge of the M14 platform and attempt at camo.

The Desert Operator has been upgraded with a lightweight aluminum chassis featuring a Tapco SAW grip and Milspec buffer tube, mounting a Magpul CTR and cheek rest. The trigger group has also been polished for smoother operation, and a Galil styled enhanced charging handle replaces the old. An Aimpoint red dot, hand stop, and grip-pod occupy the rails, and the rifle has been finished with an eye-pleasing 6 color desert Duracoat.

And in other news, I've been 19 since Tuesday and will probably be buying a Vz. 58 or Saiga-12 within the near future.
