Taking a walk around the city on my way home after my visit with the physiotherapist for my hand at the hospital. It is a hard place to get a good shot of the work because of all the buildings that surround it!
World-renowned street artist ROA has completed his large painting of a moa on the side of the Canterbury Museum in Christchurch.
The big black and white artwork on the northern wall of the museum was finished this week by the Belgian artist, who is known for his large pictures of animals.
ROA is one of about a dozen artists who have been commissioned to create works as part of the Rise street art festival.
The festival also features an exhibition at the Canterbury Museum of international and Kiwi street artists, work by British street artist Banksy and new work by Australian artist Ian Strange.
The exhibition has already proved to be one of the most popular in the

One more shot from the same area is probably overkill, but hey, it's our photo album and this is a "we were here" photo. It's been days since we left Abiquiu and this photo still gets me. So much to see, such a grand scale, so much beauty all around...
A comparatively small but significant step on our journey into the cosmos.
It is not a journey felt by one people or one nation, but by all people. The exploration of space brings us all closer together as we learn more about how minute we are in the vastness of the cosmos.

Year One made a spectacular hot rodded 1970 Plymouth Superbird a couple of years back and it really struck me as the ultimate in cool. I really wanted to build a NASCAR or hot rodded car and this one filled out both categories very nicely.
In the spirit of hot-rodding and customization, I made some customizations of my own including a humongous fuel injected racing hemi making a similar amount of power to Year One's engine (over 800 horsepower!) and my own custom interior.
The real life Superbird was well received and drove onto the Barrett-Jackson stage before thousands on-hand . The honor of driving the car into the spotlight fell to none other than living legend Richard Petty, the King of Stock Car racing. The Barrett-Jackson crew got the auction rolling and when all was said and done, the car sold for an astonishing $501,000, the auction high-point at that time, and an additional $175,000 was pledged to the Darryl Gwynn Foundation.

30th annual Many Are One Alumni awards gala celebrated 30 years of servant leadership on June 10, 2016.
The Many Are One alumni awards gala is Seton Hall's premier annual black-tie event. The gala provides an opportunity to celebrate the ways in which the University's alumni have positively influenced our world. Proceeds raised from the gala support four-year scholarships for children, grandchildren and siblings of alumni who attend Seton Hall; each selected student receives $36,000 in scholarship funds.

When it comes to the film industry, there are plenty of films out there that are never seen by traditional still photographers. These are film dedicated to printing, producing, and archiving motion pictures. Among these films is Eastman 2238, but what about Fuji? Well here's Fuji's version of 2238, a Panchromatic Separation film designed to make film copies of digital files. And what a fun film to work! While slow, it produces a fantastic fine-grain image and beautiful tonality!

The one-mile extension of Buffalo Road west of Beaverdam Road in Galien Township, Berrien County, Michigan, is no longer maintained by the county. It exists only to provide access to the agricultural fields that line both sides of the road. The one-lane bridge crosses Beaverdam Creek.
The Prado Museum, the main Spanish national art museum, is widely considered to have one of the world's finest collections of European art, dating from the 12th century to the early 20th century .Founded as a museum of paintings and sculpture in 1819, it also contains important collections of other types of works. The building that now houses the Museo Nacional del Prado was designed in 1785 by architect Juan de Villanueva on the orders of Charles III to house the Natural History Cabinet. The building's final function was not determined until the monarch's grandson, Ferdinand VII, encouraged by his wife, Queen María Isabel de Braganza, decided to use it as a new Royal Museum of Paintings and Sculptures. The Royal Museum, which would soon become known as the National Museum of Painting and Sculpture and subsequently the Museo Nacional del Prado, opened to the public in 1819. Upon the deposition of Isabella II in 1868, the museum was nationalized and acquired the new name of Museo del Prado.
Photography is not permitted in the Prado. I shook hands with Vince Vaughan as we were leaving. He clearly did not want to be noticed; Janet saw him put on sunglasses after our brief encounter.
