“I am only one, but still I am one. I cannot do everything, but still I can do something; and because I cannot do everything, I will not refuse to do something that I can do.”

~ Helen Keller

Helen Keller's quote and Luke's image moved me so that I wanted to do my own version. Not to try to do it better or differently, but to reaffirm to myself the truth contained in those words. You can see Luke's original here. Thank you Luke.

Best of a bad bunch. So far, I suck at this off camera light thing. Anyway, I rather like this one because of the accidental wave movement I captured.

Mix in one Big Citroen, add a Ford flathead V8, and luxurious Saloon bodywork and some big ambitions.

What then?

The 1934 Citroen 22CV Berline (of course?). All this really happened. Citroen wished to expand its reach upmarket with a V8 engined version of its top-line 'Traction Avant'. The taxation code '22CV' indicated that the intent was to build their own V8 from two 1.9 litre inline-four component sets. In the interim, Citroen fitted a 3.6 litre V8 Ford Flathead engine.

A few running prototypes were built, along with about 30-odd chassis and body sets for the 1934 Paris Salon. The cars being displayed in the various saloon, coupe and cabriolet bodystyles that were available on the other Traction Avant chassis.

The 22CV is identifiable by a more integrated front end with fared in lamps and hoodline. The prototypes were later fitted with standard Citroen engines, and sold to customers, with the rest of the project cancelled.

Imagine a world with 3.8 litre V8 productionised Citroen Traction Avants however....

Polaroid 600 One Step Shot with Canon PowerShot A1000IS

I bought two One Steps in about 1983 I think. Within the past year I gave one to one of my nieces daughters. Spotted this one the other day along with the Cool Cam, so now I have at least 4 of them that shoot 600 film. I have a few more that might also, I know they'll shoot SX70 and I think they'll shoot the 600. I haven't researched it quite enough yet.

One of three photos taken of the 3D Toronto sign in Nathan Phillips Square today.

"Each letter can be moved and placed on its own

Each letter is 3 meters (10 feet) tall and rests on a weighted plinth (base)

The total word is 22 meters (74 feet) long

The total weight of the whole sign is 9,207 kg (20,300 lbs)

Each letter weighs approximately 136 kg (300 lbs)

Each letter base (plinth) weighs approximately 1,180 kg (2600 lbs)

Each letter is equipped with L.E.D. lights and can transition to approximately 228 million different colours, controlled via Wifi

The whole piece contains approximately 1300 feet of L.E.D. lights

The letters are constructed with a steel frame, aluminum cladding and a translucent polycarbonate front and back (Alupanel)

The colourful sides are vinyl wrap that can be removed, so the letters can be re-skinned with different vinyl designs for other occasions."

Built in 1870, the single lane Creamery Bridge spans Whetstone Brook in Brattlesboro Vermont. The single span bridge is a 80 foot long town lattice truss and is a single lane at 16 feet wide. A sidewalk and slate roof were added to the bridge in 1917.

I'm going to try to post one of these photos every day for ten days. I'm not sure they form a sequence, or at least my sequence, and I don't think I have them all, as they are numbered on the back and the numbers go a good bit higher. So take the sequence for a kind of fiction, and ride with it.

Crosslit by Vivitar 285HV and Bower SFD728C. The Bower was camera right and behind the chess set. The Vivitar was camera left. Both flashes were at the same height as the chess board so the pieces would be lit while the board stayed dark.
