I,ve no idea what this is. If anyone does know it,s about the size of a small mushroom.

One last moment

The days were closing in

The ray of light

Was faltering

--Simple Minds

The river was calm, the oyster farmers had finished their work, the day was coming to a close.

My first try with sky watcher star tracker. its going to take some practice but I am impressed with it so far. Due to only driving 30 mins to this spot there is alot of light pollution from Perth but all in all a successful effort. I am excited to see how it goes once the milkyway core is visible again.

Dactylorhiza fuchsii (Fuchs Knabenkraut, common spotted orchid) were very abundant in the elevated parts of Leoben.

Blue-gray Gnatcatcher, juvenile. Happy little bugger!

So today is the first Turkey Holocaust Day I’ll be spending all by my lonesome. It isn’t really fair to complain, since I opted not to accept any of the invitations that were extended to me. It's just that i take holiday traditions pretty seriously. Meaning that I like to do things the way I’ve always done them, not because I necessarily like the way they were done, but just because, well, that’s how I’ve done them. Coming to NYC a couple years ago was strange enough, but my dad always managed to be here for work around this time, so I was able to maintain some continuity. And of course, there’s always been a Twilight Zone marathon on television. Except that this year my dad’s working in Australia, and they replaced the Twilight Zone marathon with a James Bond marathon (?!). Damn.

So here’s a little Thanksgiving rant. Not against traditions in general, but against my inability to accept, much less embrace, any deviations from them. To dislike change is, like, totally anti-evolutionary. So what the hell is my problem?

P.S. This is for FGR (Fun with Paper)

P.P.S. Guess who left her ISO on too high a setting again? Dammit.

Amtrak's Pioneer train No. 26 pulls into Salt Lake City, Utah at 8:42 a.m. on June 20, 1987. At that time, the Pioneer train from Seattle, the Desert Wind from Los Angeles, and the California Zephyr from Oakland, came together as one train east to Chicago.

Freshly emerged from the potato scrum in Saltaire, I was wandering back along the canal with the camera, to see if anything interesting was about and managed to capture this female goosander that had caught a perch for lunch. I think the male wanted lunch too but there would be no valentines meal for two here.

Hmm.. Not sure what to say about this one. My granddaughters, Brooklynn and Sofia.

One day after the supermoon...clear skies here in Denver...bonus aircraft taking off from DIA tonight!

I have shot a LOT fewer photos this year than others. Probably the least "productive" year since I started with the whole photography thing (again). I'm okay with that, I guess.

I still have some rolls to develop. I still have a number of photos from this year to share, as well. But I also have quite a few from years past. Maybe I look at every day and think "maybe I'll share this soon" and usually never do.

This photo could use some fresh eyes. I'm tired of looking at it.

July 2022

At first I found it difficult to get anything unusual or impressive from a single seagull on a grey drizzly day. Until I started walking away - then this shot presented itself beautifully.

There is personal feelings how to say it all...

Like clouds ☁️.. like rain .. like sand of deep sea 🌊...

There is personal feelings nobody to know...

Like moon high above 🌙 from far far away..

Ladybird, ladybird fly away home,

Your house is on fire and your children are gone,

All except one,

And her name is Ann,

And she hid under the baking pan.

14th May 2020:

Rather windy and cold this morning which didn't encourage me to go out. So I took my backup photo of the bird seed on the garden table.

Although it wasn't quite so bad this afternoon, I really didn't feel like going out. So it's the bird seed for today.

Today is also : National Caesar Day - especially for my Canadian friends - nationaldaycalendar.com/national-caesar-day-thursday-befo...

As for the Silly News it's : National Buttermilk Biscuit Day - nationaldaycalendar.com/days-2/national-buttermilk-biscui...

Not sure how easy it is to get buttermilk here in France.

But it's also : National Dance Like a Chicken Day : nationaldaycalendar.com/days-2/national-dance-like-a-chic...

Which just sounds really daft!

Who spoke and taught the sun to rise

whose lips proclaimed the birth of light?

Who sparked the kindling of stars

and set the fire in our hearts?

Who sang as planets learned their dance

Who poured the oceans from his hands?

Whose breath awakened life from dust

and leaves me breathless at his touch?

Jesus, One and only

Great and holy, we are Yours

How our hearts race at Your glory

Lord, Almighty, we are yours

and yours alone

Who is the man upon a cross

who left his throne to ramson us?

Who died to save us at our worst

and rose to give us heaven's best?

You rose to give us heaven's best!

Jesus, One and only

Great and holy, we are yours

How our hearts race, at Your glory

Lord, Almighty

We are yours...

and yours alone!

My Saviour, Jesus, One and Only

Great and holy

We are yours

How our hearts race at Your glory

Lord, Almighty, we are Yours

and yours alone!

We will watch the bridegroom come

and heaven break like the dawn

All dressed in white our shame is gone

We're free to dance before your throne

Free to sing, to celebrarte

who you are, lord

Jesus, One and Only

Great and holy

We are ours

How our hearts race, at Your glory

Lord, Almighty

We are Yours

My Jesus, One and Only

Great and holy, we are Yours

How our hearts race at Your glory

Lord, Almighty

We are Yours

and Yours alone
