One of a pair of raccoons making the rounds of people's gardens early one morning. One of them was limping, and part of its tail is missing. Perhaps the dog was out when they visited the house with the sign on the fence: "Warning: Dog in Residence!"

Angkor Wat is a temple complex in Cambodia and the largest religious monument in the world with the site measuring 162.6 hectares (1,626,000 m2). It was originally constructed as a Hindu temple of god Vishnu for the Khmer Empire, gradually transforming into a Buddhist temple toward the end of the 12th century. It was built by the Khmer King Suryavarman II in the early 12th century in Yaśodharapura, present-day Angkor, the capital of the Khmer Empire, as his state temple and eventual mausoleum. Breaking from the Shaiva tradition of previous kings, Angkor Wat was instead dedicated to Vishnu. As the best-preserved temple at the site, it is the only one to have remained a significant religious center since its foundation. The temple is at the top of the high classical style of Khmer architecture. It has become a symbol of Cambodia, appearing on its national flag, and it is the country's prime attraction for visitors.
Here the traffic sign seems to indicate that you do not go to church, and as the church is today (at least in Europe) I am not surprised!

2020 one photo each day
Sorry for not commenting today but I've been without the Internet for more than 6 hours thanks to a thunderstorm I think.
As extraordinary shots go, this one is probably my luckiest yet. This is a black-winged stilt - in flight - as it skimmed across the water in front of me... Blimey! Did that really happen?
A stubby little California juniper with a rounded crown stands patiently beside a narrow, brush-lined dirt road above the Mojave riverbed like a schoolchild waiting for the morning bus while the Three Sisters watch maternally from the horizon.
This image is from a roll I shot on 127 Day, December 7th (12/7 in US date notation), in order to have a contribution for the 127 Day online exhibition on J. M. Golding's 127 Film Photography site (127film.blogspot.com/2022/08/127-day-exhibition-12th-of-j...). Lots of nice 127 images there for those who enjoy the 127 film format!
Camera: Ruberg Futuro (c1933, with f/11 Rodenstock Periskop lens, www.flickr.com/photos/kratz/2513372933/in/photolist-2jjbV...). The Futuro is a small, metal-bodied 127 film camera with rounded ends and a Bakelite screw-tube lens. The camera was one of four models produced in the early 1930s by Ruberg & Renner of Hagen, Germany, a company known primarily for the manufacture of drive chains for bicycles, motorcycles, and automobiles. By 1935, the company had ended their camera production and switched to the production of ammunition belts for the burgeoning German war effort. The little camera can shoot in either 4x6.5 or 3x4cm format through the use of a sliding switch on the camera's bottom which adjusts the negative mask inside the camera body. This image was shot using the 3x4cm option.
Film: 127 Verichrome Pan (expired 1971, originally ISO 125, now EI 25), developed in Arista Liquid Developer (1+9) for 5:00 minutes @ 71 degrees, and scanned with an Epson V600 scanner.
Love to capture moments at night in a way that some parts are revelead, to leave the rest for the imagination... to create a story...

For one final time, the eastbound and westbound Yampa Valley Mail meet at Bond, CO. It is April 7, 1968 and it is the last day for the train. The little two car train was swelled in both directions. The westbound run had nine cars in the consist. In the background the eastbound train is coming down off the Craig Branch while the power for the westbound train sits in the foreground. Several passengers were out to capture the moment that would never again be repeated.

I went for a drive at lunch today. I was amazed by all the yellow. I can't stand one Dandelion on my lawn but fields of them are visually striking. Fergus Ontario
So we learn how to take photos with a dslr, changing lens, focus, light, ISO, aperture and various other settings with millions of combinations of possible settings. We teach ourselves the theory and learn the techniques and then, along comes a mobile phone with a minute camera in it.
Having been someone who fought hard to understand the theory and complex three dimensional mathematics of navigation by the sun and stars, only for satnav to make all that learning and training totally redundant.... a waste of time, I'm beginning to sense that within a few years the craft of photography may be rapidly disappearing as all pictures are captured by mobile phone. The only people who will use a dslr will be those fools who do it the hard way just for old time's sake. But what's the point? Camera craft will die out as surely as the skill of using a sextant.
