Return of the world's largest cruise ship to the port of Rotterdam after a two week maintenance at Keppel Verolme. At the end of the day the ship sailed off to Southampton with on board thousands of passengers who bought a one-way ticket. The ship is nearly 362 meters in length and is a massive 47 meters wide. It contains 16 passenger decks and can carry over 6000 passengers and nearly 2400 crew members.

Before the church was built the hill was occupied by a pagan shrine, and when the first church was being built in the village, the stones would, each night, mysteriously be moved from their location to the top of the hill.
After a few nights of this it was taken as a sign from God that he wished the church to be built on the hill.

Well of course our bathroom sink had to have a leak before we went on our trip so we just shut it off till we got back. Done now for more projects we planned on!
We hiked Lost Lake on Sunday. It rained and was cold. We forced ourselves to stop and pick some berries until our hands were numb. Monday brought pancakes that made the effort worthwhile.

The first cases of rabies in Bali were reported in 2008. FAO established a technical assistance project with the Government of Indonesia with the aim of supporting national efforts to control the disease on Bali. This was to be achieved by establishing an effective programme to coordinate and facilitate rabies control with government agencies and partner organizations. As a result of the programme, human rabies cases were reduced from eleven per month in 2010 to just one per month the following year. Following a mass vaccination of dogs, there was another major reduction in 2012 and 2013, bringing the number of reported cases down to only one human case in all of 2013. The model developed in Bali is now being modified as appropriate and used in other affected parts of Indonesia to progressively control and eliminate the virus from the entire country.

This feature Cart was created for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Pageant.
The Cart was built by 20 engineers, 10 carpenters, 15 painters, 10 electricians, and 6 costume and dressmakers from 17 Carnival Clubs and took 12 months from initial design to completion
This very special unique cart has 40 moving parts, and 1,500 lights for illumination.
In the building of the cart 80 sheets of 12mm plywood and 20,000 wood screws were used in the construction and was painted using 200 litres of environmentally friendly water based paint.
It took the cart 6 hours to travel to London for the Platinum Jubilee and was transported by Wheeler & Son, Bridgwater based haulage specialists.

The famous Secret Room (Gabinetto Segreto / Secret Cabinet) houses the erotica collection of the Visit the National Museum of Archaeology in Naples. For long, these erotica objects from Roman antiquity could only be seen with the personal permission of the king of Naples. It has only been open permanently to the general public for the last two decades or so – children may still only enter together with adults.
Many of the objects came from Pompeii where phallic symbols were quite prominently displayed both in public and private households. Priapus was a popular subject. An erect phallus was seen in Pompeii as a symbol of fertility, good luck, and wealth, and not necessarily as sexual.
Some of the erotica is of very high artistic quality while others are not much more than schoolboy smut that managed to survive for nearly two millennia. The Garden of Delights Room in the Altes Museum in Berlin also has a remarkable collection of erotica from antiquity on permanent display.
