Government witness testimony by Miguel Brennan in CASE 92-CR-00018-AA given during the Federal racketeering trial United States of America vs. Ronnie Hudson a.k.a. Fleet in July 1993 at the Ann Arbor US Courthouse before the Honorable Judge GEORGE LA PLATTA presiding.
Unishipping
International Ltd was appointed to deliver a new turbo generator for the
biggest thermal power plant in Bulgaria. The cargo consisted of a stator
with weight 189 t, dimensions 5.96 x 4.14 x 4.26 m, a rotor with weight 48
t, dimensions 10.80 x 1.80 x 1.75 m, plus 20 cases with accessories. The
generator was supplied at Saint Petersburg Port, and loaded on m/v
Schillplate chartered by Unishipping to Varna Port. It was a big challenge
for port authorities in Varna, as this was the heaviest piece ever
discharged with their two 100 t mobile cranes.
From Varna the stator had to be loaded on an 18 axle trailer and delivered
in South Bulgaria. Unfortunately when cargo was discharged Unishipping was
informed by the consignee from the power plant that the old generator had
not yet been removed and they could not accept the new generator. Thus
Unishipping delivered all pieces, except the stator, which was stored at
quay in the port. The cargo was discharged more than two weeks prior to the
deadline and so the weather conditions were not in Unishippings favor. The
Varna region was frozen with temperature minus 20°C and was stopped up with
snow and ice. As such Unishipping had no time to lose and decided to proceed
with the overland transport. They hired a dumper, loaded with sand and salt,
in order to spread it before the convoy in the icy parts on the road and
convoy departed with three escort cars. After two days transit time the
stator was successfully delivered at job site. But Unishippings job was not
finished yet. The 18 axle convoy had to enter in the interior of the plant
where there was very limited space. Therefore the stator was lifted up on
elephant legs, the 18 axle trailer was dismantled and stator was reloaded on
a 12 axle trailer in order to reach the exact place in the plant.

Most Rev. David J. Walkowiak, bishop of Grand Rapids, was joined in prayer on Friday, March 25, 2022 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Grand Rapids, by 900 individuals (in person and online) to implore the aid and comfort of our Blessed Mother during the act of consecration of Russia and Ukraine to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
The consecration was pronounced by Pope Francis in St. Peter's Basilica in Rome and performed in communion with the local Churches around the globe as the pope had invited the bishops of the whole world, along with their priests, to join him in the prayer. Bishop Walkowiak’s celebration of Mass, which began at noon local time corresponded to the start of Pope Francis' celebration. Mass was followed by a recitation of the rosary and concluded with the Act of Consecration.
When something is consecrated, it is declared sacred or holy. The practice of consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary is linked to the apparitions of Our Lady of Fatima to the three little shepherds in 1917.
We are grateful to Immaculate Heart of Mary parish pastor Father Troy Nevins and his staff for hosting this time of prayer.

The Temple of Concordia (Italian: Tempio della Concordia) is an ancient Greek temple in the Valle dei Templi (Valley of the Temples) in Agrigento (Greek: Akragas) on the south coast of Sicily, Italy. It is the largest and best-preserved Doric temple in Sicily and one of the best-preserved Greek temples in general, especially of the Doric order.
The temples of Khajuraho were built between 950 to 1050 A.D. during the Chandela dynasty of Central India (These rulers claimed descent from the moon, hence the name Chand-ela). After the decline of the Chandela dynasty in 13th century, the temples were left under the cover of dense date palm trees for many years, which gave the city of Khajuraho its name, Khajur in Hindi means a date. In the ancient times it was known as Vatsa.
In 1838, a British army engineer, Captain T.S. Burt rediscovered them. By that time only 22 of the original 85 temples had survived.
During the Chandela rule, many towns in Bundelkhand including Khajuraho were home to large and flourishing Jain communities. At Khajuraho the Jains apparently lived on the east side of town. A number of Jain temples from that period have survived in this part of Khajuraho in various states of preservation. Many Jain inscriptions from the Chandela period can be seen at Khajuraho. All the Jain temples are now enclosed within a compound wall constructed in early 20th century, with the exception of the Ghantai temple.
Two of the large temples - Parshvanath Temple and Adinath Temple - still stand in a good state of preservation.
The Adinath Temple contains an idol with an inscription dated Sam 1215 during the rule of Chandella king Madanavarman. Dedicated to Jain Tirthankar (God), adinath, the temple is lavishly embellished with sculpted figures, including yakshis.
*based on the legend of Atalaya's curse of Meleguerro who tried to rape her while asleep, /It is said, not confirmed/ that Maleguerro hid behind a tree upon discovering Atalaya tending her sheep, when she fell asleep he tried to rape her only to discover that his handsome body turned into that of a beast which he was forced to devour only leaving the bones of a yet to be identified beast. p.s. To-day, we can trace Atalaya's birth to a town named after her in the province of Veraguas, Panama. In later years, it is said /not confirmed/ that she became under the protection of Yorosobi and Chango giving her extraordinary powers helping those who believe in her, to administer curses to those whose who's honors were tarnished.
Aït Benhaddou (Ksar of Ait-Ben-Haddou), Morocco
Aït Benhaddou, along the former caravan route between the Sahara and Marrakech in present-day Morocco. Most citizens attracted by the tourist trade live in more modern dwellings in a village on the other side of the river, although there are four families still living in the ancient village. Inside the walls of the ksar are half a dozen kasbahs, or merchants' houses. Ksar Aït Benhaddou is a great example of Moroccan earthen clay architecture and has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987.

Dead population of Eucalyptus gunnii spp divaricata. This woodland went into decline very suddenly and now not a single living tree stands. The Miena Cider Gum is endemic to Tasmania and occupies a tiny 40 by 40 kilometre area. It's restricted to damp, frost hollows in open woodland on the Central Plateau.

St Peter's at Church Knowle, Isle of Purbeck in Dorset is a dainty 13th century church but it is likely the site dates back much further as 'Cnolle' is Saxon for a hill. I found it during my holiday in 2010 but I only rediscovered the church guidebook tonight while clearing out tons of old documents. I could thus write a reasonable caption story at last.

The surviving list of rectors dates back to Robert Michel in 1327 but two of these had remarkable records of service - Isaak Chapman was rector of 65 years in the 18th century while John Richards was rector for 52 years from 1781.
Until the 19th century the church was a perfect cruciform plan with a chancel, nave, western tower plus north and south transepts but between 1833 and 1841 the north wall of the nave was demolished and moved out to the line of the end of the north transept. This area was also adapted to take a first storey gallery with box pews.
The nave and the chancel are divided by a stone mural screen, one of eight known to remain in Dorset. In the south transept are parts of two stone coffins thought to be 13th or 14th century.
A substantial monument with brasses remains in what was once the north transept to John Clavell Esq who died in 1609 and his two wives, Myllicent who died in 1571 and his second wife Susan who died in 1618. The actual tomb was ordered and built the year after Myllicent died.

Gitwangak Battle Hill (formerly known as Kitwanga Fort ) was a fortified village occupied during the late 1700s and early 1800s by the Gitwangak First Nation. Strategically located on on a small hill above the riverbank, the site afforded excellent vantages up and down the Kitwanga River valley and the adjacent Kitwankul Grease Trail. A famous occupant of the site was warrior 'Nekt who fought to establish control of the network of lucrative trading trails in the Skeena, Kitimat and Nass region of northern British Columbia.

Humayun's Tomb was built by his wife Haji Begum in 1569AD. The Architect was Mirak Mirza Ghiyas, who built the tomb in Persian style.
The gardens (charbagh) with their water channels and fountains dividing the area around the tomb into four quarters, each subdivided into eight further subsquares, imitate the Koranic concept of paradise.

The World Museum of Mining was founded in 1963 when the close of Butte's mining heyday was less than two decades away. In the end Butte Montana experienced a century of hardrock mining and earned the reputation of being home to one of the world's most productive copper mines of all time. The Museum exists to preserve the enduring history of Butte and the legacy of its rich mining and cultural heritage.
The World Museum of Mining is one of the few museums in the world located on as actual mine yard- the Orphan Girl Mine. With fifty exhibit buildings, countless artifacts, and sixty-six primary exhibits in the mine yard.

In 2003 the city of Chicago started purchasing homes and businesses in this part of Bensenville IL for the "O'Hare modernization program". As of fall 2008 , less than ten homes in this entire subdivision still have inhabitants. The OMP has been the subject of controversy from allegations of corruption, its high cost to taxpayers($20 billion), and the fact that it will force 3,000+ residents out of their homes. As a result, the project has been delayed and the houses sit in limbo.
