After arriving at New Delhi, we slept for a few hours at the airport before heading to Guwahati in Assam (N-E India) with the Himalaya mountain range visible in the distance.
The visit to Guwahati was limited to 1 day, visiting the Assam National Museum and Temple of Kamakhya during the last days of the monsoon period. The next day we left already and we crossed the Bhramaputra river north to the Bhutan border to start our visit to the kingdom of Bhutan .
Bhutan to New Delhi We left Bhutan in Phuntsholing crossing the border with India and we headed for the airport of Bagdagra.
For sure a few hours to remember. At the end of the day we arrived again in New Delhi for 2 additional days in India.
Our first day in New Delhi was used for a citytour. Along all the sites and sounds from traffic, we visited some historic places like the Jama Masjid Mosque, Humayun's tomb, Gurudwara Bangla Sahib temple, India Gate and the Raj Ghat park, with the marble platform that marks the spot where Mahatma Gandhi was cremated.
On our last day, A very early departure for a 5 hour drive over the Yamuna Express way to Agra.
Visiting one of the 7 current World Miracles and the Unesco World Heritage site Taj Mahal temple, Agra Fort and also a brief visit the Little Taj Mahal temple.

Sequoia National Park is a national park in the southern Sierra Nevada east of Visalia, California, in the United States. It was established on September 25, 1890. The park spans 404,063 acres (631.35 sq mi; 1,635.18 km2). Encompassing a vertical relief of nearly 13,000 feet (4,000 m), the park contains among its natural resources the highest point in the contiguous 48 United States, Mount Whitney, at 14,505 feet (4,421 m) above sea level. The park is south of and contiguous with Kings Canyon National Park; the two are administered by the National Park Service together.
The park is famous for its giant sequoia trees, including the General Sherman tree, one of the largest trees on Earth. The General Sherman tree grows in the Giant Forest, which contains five out of the ten largest trees in the world. The Giant Forest is connected by the Generals Highway to Kings Canyon National Park's General Grant Grove, home to the General Grant tree among other giant sequoias. The park's giant sequoia forests are part of 202,430 acres (81,921 ha) of old-growth forests shared by Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks. Indeed, the parks preserve a landscape that still resembles the southern Sierra Nevada before Euro-American settlement.
Jerry and I went to Trail of Tears on Halloween! We saw the visitor center, the sign, the overlook, and Princess Otahki's grave.
The Trail of Tears is the name given to the route used to forcibly remove the Native American nations and march them to present day Oklahoma. They were stalled at the site of the Trail of Tears Park near Cape Girardeau because of the awful winter and many of the Cherokee died. The Thong Tree in Jackson, Missouri, is at the site of their encampment there.

Sergiyev Posad (Се́ргиев Поса́д in Russian) is a city and the administrative center of Sergiyevo-Posadsky District in Moscow Oblast, just northeast of the Russian capital. It is best know for its exquisitely beautiful Trinity Lavra of Saint Sergius. A lavra is a special type of monastery common in eastern orthodox branches of Christianity.
The Trinity Lavra of St. Sergius (Тро́ице-Се́ргиева Ла́вра) is the most important Russian monastery and the spiritual center of the Russian Orthodox Church. The monastery is currently is home to over 300 monks and is listed with UNESCO as a WOrld Heritage Site.
Such a fascinating place down in the least known Italian province, Basilicata. Having said that, Matera is actually pretty well known amongst the Hollywood location scouts looking for some biblical backdrop. Some of the houses are actually cut into the rock..
All Saints Church, Douglas, days before its closure in 2017 after over 110 years of service.
All Saints was first build in July 1898 and it came to be known as the “Tin Tab” due to its corrugated iron exterior. This led it its being re-built entirely, in a modern style reflecting its consecration on 20th April 1967.
However, due to serious structural problems sustained over the intervening 50 years, the costs for the repairs required to return the building to a safe state were unmanageable for the diocese.
The church closed on 1 May 2017. These photographs were taken days before, on 27 April 2017.

Sgt. Maj. Deborah Manzanares inherited the senior enlisted position of the 3-157th Field Artillery from Command Sgt. Maj. John Assaad. Manzanares is one of the first female Soldiers to serve as a command sergeant major of a High Mobility Artillery Rocket System field artillery battalion. At about 9AM on the 17th of March the marching bands and other performers begin to assemble in the area near the 'Black Church' which I will discuss below.
Tomorrow is St. Patrick's Day and that is when my 2019 Streets Of Ireland programme begins in earnest. The first major event is the St. Patrick's Day parade in Dublin and the second major event is my visit to Belfast in Brexit Week. I had intended to leave Belfast on the day that the UK leaves the EU but that may be postponed. If the date [29 March 2019] changes I may delay my visit to Northern Ireland.
St Mary's Chapel of Ease, also known as "The Black Church", is a former chapel. Now deconsecrated, it was a church of the Church of Ireland located on St Mary's Place, Broadstone. It is constructed from local calp limestone which takes on a dark hue when wet. This is the origin of the building's nickname.
Local lore says that you will summon the devil if you run around the church anticlockwise three times at midnight.
