Nine College of idaho students, each playing the role of a particular current justice on the U.S. Supreme Court, barraged local attorneys arguing the cases with questions during the College's mock court class in January 2013. Kerry Hunter, professor of political economy, started the course 18 years ago as a way to introduce students to the Supreme Court. I am not sure how it took so long, but I finally signed up for the All Access Ship Tour on our recent cruise. Wow - this was fantastic! Our tour guide was Nemo (from the Shore Excursions team) - and he did a great job. I took the tour on Thursday February 21st at 9am (our first of two days at sea on our way home). Here is the description from the cruise planner: "Get a behind-the-scenes look at what we do to create your best vacation ever. Join your friendly guide for an exclusive narrated tour onboard your ship. Start off in the dining room, where you’ll find out what our crew does to get ready for every meal, plus try to set up a table yourself. Do you know where to place the water glass or soup spoon? Walk through the main galley to see how our delicious dishes are prepared, plus take a look at the provision area to see all of the ingredients we need to have on hand — it’s a lot! Then step inside the engine control room, where we monitor the systems used throughout the ship. You’ll also visit the ship’s vast laundry facilities. See where anything from napkins, table cloths and sheets to beach towels and the laundry you request gets cleaned and folded. Plus, you’ll have a chance to stroll the “I-95,” the long corridor in the crew’s area, named after the longest highway on the U.S. east coast. Finish with a real treat – a visit to the Bridge for a tour of the ship’s command center." On board the Royal Caribbean Grandeur of the Seas for a 9 Night Southeast Coast & Bahamas Cruise (February 14th through the 23rd, 2019). The itinerary include stops in Charleston (SC), Port Canaveral (FL), Freeport (Grand Bahama Island), Nassau (Bahamas) and Miami (FL) before heading back to Baltimore.
A State of 90's - Lets meet again! 13-03-2010. Elkaar weer ontmoeten deden we zeker deze avond. Elkaar onderling en de crowd de artiesten en andersom. Er heerste een enorme energetische vibe in The Sand en we waanden ons weer terug in de beginjaren van de dance, waar de verschillende huidige stromingen zijn ontstaan. We hebben het hier over: A state of 90's. Met artiesten die als pioneers aan de wieg stonden van wat we nu als moderne en hedendaagse dancestromingen kennen. Wat te denken van Fierce Ruling Diva - Live, Miss Monica, Human Resource en Quadrophonia. De allergrootste klassiekers kwamen deze nacht voorbij. Deze heren en dame dj's zijn het draaien nog allerminst verleerd en gaan ook 20 jaar later nog steeds los. Net als generatiegenoten en de generatie na hen op de dansvloer. En iedereen danste tot dat hij/zij er bij neerviel. Wat een nacht in de Sand. Top gewoon! Respect aan de mannen van het geluid en het licht. Dat was dik in orde deze nacht. Misschien voor een volgende editie nog een paar vette lasers in de zaal hangen. Om het helemaal af te maken! Ook dank aan de organisatie voor het neerzetten van zo'n mooi feest. Deze set is mede tot stand gekomen met dank aan Michael. Dank gast, voor de vette foto's. Zijn foto's zijn de nummers: 228 t/m 330 van deze set. De nabewerking van de hele set heb ik verzorgd. Geen (storende) logo's in de foto's. Dus gewoon je eigen foto(s) of welke foto je maar wil snel en gemakkelijk downloaden in het formaat 15 x 10 cm! Maar ook wanneer er wel een logo in de foto is geplaatst bij sets, kun je altijd je mooiste foto(s) als herinnering aan een bijzondere avond/nacht bestellen bij mij. Stuur een mail naar: dutchpartypics@yahoo.com met het/de betreffende fotonummer(s). Daarna laat ik je de details weten waar je je Eurootje naar kunt overmaken. Daarna stuur ik je de high res. foto via de mail toe. Een fotootje in de maximale resolutie van 10 MP (3800 x 2500 pixels ongeveer) zonder logo dus, kost je maar een lousy Eurootje. En jij kunt daarna je favoriete partyfoto laten afdrukken op canvas bijvoorbeeld, in een afmeting van 100 x 67 cm. En dat ziet er erg strak uit kan ik je verzekeren. Heb er zelf ook eentje aan de muur hangen thuis. Dat kost je ongeveer 50 - 70 Euro. Of je geeft je afgedrukte foto als geschenk aan je liefje. Mogelijkheden zat te bedenken!
Dank nogmaals allen voor de mooie foto opportunities het afgelopen weekend. Respect aan de mensen van sound & vision in de Escape, Panama en Sand. Alle drie toplocaties, met topfeesten in een mooie stad: Amsterdam. Het was een mooi party-weekend, 11-12-13 maart 2010!

Blois château, France. One of a series of female saints in the Oratory (once the queen's private chapel). Designed by Michel Dumas in 1858, the windows were painted by Claudius Lavergne in 1859. Each of the saints depicted has a connection to the Medici or Valois family. This somewhat unsaintly figure has me completely beaten. Suggestions please as to the saint represented.

this is basically what my week consisted of. stephen had to go to work everyday at 9 til about 3, but was able to get off around 1ish. chris had work at like 2 at the barn, so it worked perfectly, so chris would just play gta 4 with me until stephen came and then wed play gta. fun fun
oh! and i was so proud of myself. in the last mission, i did most of it and then chris finished it for me, all he did was the helicopter part. thats more than i ve ever done. haha. im amazinggg.
so my camera has a problem with it. it wont focus correctly. so its annoying. i wont be having any more flick on this page for a bit til i can at least get it fixed. i AM about to upload a bunch from the florida trip onto my other flickr page.

but i didnt have a camera for a lot of the week. which sucked. this is what i got though. oh we went on a carriage tour for free! stephen got a job as a barn hand with chris working at palmetto, so he deals with the horses and mules. we got to go on it for free. it was funny cause stephen knew the tour guide so the whole time the guide would make a joke or something about it. funny
it was fun though. i definitely recommend it if you ever go to charleston.

Wawaset Park is significant under criterion C for its landscape architecture, designed by E. L. Palmer in the tradition of Frederick Law Olmsted, and for its architecture, a collection of mostly "Period" houses. The neighborhood's curving streets and attention to natural contours are unlike most of the developments in Wilmington and other cities prior to the early twentieth century. The district is also significant under criterion A for its association with the expansion of the E. I. du Pont de Nemours Company's workforce after growth of the company's business during World War I. In 1918 Du Pont purchased the tract of land that had previously been the state fairgrounds and horse track with the intent of developing a residential community for its executive staff. Du Pont planned to offer the houses for sale to the public as well, but only on a secondary basis, as the company employees were experiencing a severe housing shortage.
Many of the houses in Wawaset Park were designed by Edward L. Palmer and are what we would today call period houses. Some dwellings are Tudor cottages; others are brick Georgian mansions. The smaller group houses contain some elements of the then out-of-date "Picturesque" and Gothic styles. They are clustered in small rows and initially sold for $6,000 plus about $1500 for the lot. The larger semi-detached and detached houses had prices ranging from $9,000 to $20,000 plus the lots. The company offered employees the opportunity to purchase houses and lots for a 10% down payment with a ten year mortgage at 5%. Expensive at the time, each house, whether fully attached or detached, was constructed as part of a unique "suburb set within the city," providing its residents with the privacy of the country and the convenience of the city in an Olmsted-type landscape designed by E.L. Palmer.

The Kusakizome technique uses the plants such as blueberry, kaki(persimmon) and wasabi (green horseradish). The studio produces beautiful fashion items of Kusakizome using a variety of shibori techniques (tie dyeing).
