As I have been on Flickr for a few years now, most of you know, I work for Coca-Cola. I’ve been working a long time, and I’ve never been more inspired. I’m especially excited about our “Arctic Home” project.

Together with WWF and people like you, Coca-Cola is helping to establish a safe refuge for the polar bear—a goal that will require working with local communities, supporting research and carrying out additional conservation work. As part of this initiative, Coca-Cola has created Arctic Home, our biggest effort to date to protect the polar bear and its habitat. Coca-Cola has pledged $2 million to help fund the creation of a safe refuge and—with your help—we can do even more. In that spirit, Coca-Cola has also agreed to match up to $1 million of consumer donations made through Arctic Home by March 15, 2012.
This holiday season, Coca-Cola is also turning our iconic red cans white for the first time in history and including a product code on participating Coca-Cola products that allows you to make a matched donation through Arctic Home. The Coca-Cola Polar Bear and I are old friends, and actually, we’ve both matured. I’m sure the character and animation are ever evolving. He was taller, “bigger” and more animated. ;o) This photo is kind of dark, but I wanted to post it anyway to tell you about the Arctic Home project.
I had a great time in Atlanta, and a productive trip workwise as well. Only downside, I developed sciatica pain Thursday, which became severe on Friday. If you've ever had it, you know what I mean. I can't sit, stand or walk without whincing with white hot pain! It's bizarre. I'm taking care and will see my chiropractor on Monday. In the meantime, I've been laying down and treating with an ice pack at regular intervals.

Chicago, IL – After bouncing around the country over the years I still have to say one of my favorite cities is Chicago. Sure it gets cold, real cold I think they even invented it. There is the charm as well as history in which surrounds the city. I look forward to visiting again – it’s always an adventure. They even have an excellent brewery!! (Goose Island Brewing).

This past weekend we met Kirsty from the UK - a friend of our friends Colin and Ashley - so they decided to show her the canadian cabin experience.
As Director of the Institute for Food and Agricultural Standards, MSU AgBioResearch scientist and University-distinguished professor of Sociology Larry Busch has made MSU a national leader in the agricultural standards area. He is also part of the team studying nanotechnology ethics and is working to facilitate public participation in nanotechnology decision making.
Busch says the project fits in well with the institute's mission because part of the project is looking at how agrifood nanotechnology should be regulated.
Busch works on the social, ethical and political ramifications of food nanotechnology.

The Caguana (Capa) Site represents the largest and most complex ball court ceremonial site in Puerto Rico, and indeed, in the entire West Indies. The archeological investigation of the site demonstrated the sophistication of Taino ceremonialism and organization during the Late Prehistoric and Early Contact Period of Puerto Rico. The excavation also provided the basis for defining the Capá Phase (A.D. 1200-1500), based on analysis of the archeological material from this site.
The Caguana Site is considered of national significance under National Historic Landmark Criterion 6 for providing information on ceremonial aspects of the Taino culture, and for defining the late prehistoric and early contact archeological sequence of western Puerto Rico. The Caguana Site falls under the Theme of Indigenous American Populations, Subtheme Prehistoric/Historic Archeology, and Topical Aspects of Religion, Ideology, and Ceremonialism, and Major Contributions to the Development of Culture Histories.
The discovery of the Caribbean islands by Europeans in the last decade of the fifteenth century produced the first historical literature on the island Tainos and their customs. Customs as strange to Europeans as head deformation; the elaborate burials of Indian chiefs, or caciques, with their favorite wives; the holding of areytos, or elaborate ceremonial celebrations; the use of tobacco; cannibalism of the Caribs; and the playing of a ball game, called batey, on a specially prepared open surface were noted in the early chronicles. The first historical account of this last activity dates from the first voyage of Columbus who returned from the Caribbean in 1493 with a rubber ball, "large as an olive jar," used by the Taino in their ball games.
Bordered by the Andes in the east, the Chilean coast range in the west, and considered by many to be the driest desert in the world, Chile's Atacama Desert was the site of the Radiative Heating in Underexplored Bands Campaign (RHUBC-II)
From August to October 2009, a team of researchers from the US and Italy was deployed to the Chajnantor Plateau in Chile for the second phase of the Radiative Heating in Underexplored Bands Campaign (RHUBC-II). The arid, low pressure conditions permits accurate measurements of the amount of infrared energy reaching the Earth’s surface, which scientists use to improve energy transfer calculations in global climate models.

U.S. Army Garrison Red Cloud and Area I hosted Soldiers, civilians and family members for an Independence Day Celebration July 4 at Camp Casey. The day offered a variety of food and entertainment featuring food-eating contests, a chili cook-off, carnival rides, midway games, clowns, face-painting, kite flying, a dunk tank, and live music with Warrior’s Got Talent taking center stage. After hearing from event host Col. Jack Haefner, Commander, USAG Red Cloud and Area I and Maj. Gen. Thomas S. Vandal, Commander, Second Infantry Division the community was treated to a rousing “Salute to the Nation” and patriotic fireworks display.
At about 9AM on the 17th of March the marching bands and other performers begin to assemble in the area near the 'Black Church' which I will discuss below.
Tomorrow is St. Patrick's Day and that is when my 2019 Streets Of Ireland programme begins in earnest. The first major event is the St. Patrick's Day parade in Dublin and the second major event is my visit to Belfast in Brexit Week. I had intended to leave Belfast on the day that the UK leaves the EU but that may be postponed. If the date [29 March 2019] changes I may delay my visit to Northern Ireland.
St Mary's Chapel of Ease, also known as "The Black Church", is a former chapel. Now deconsecrated, it was a church of the Church of Ireland located on St Mary's Place, Broadstone. It is constructed from local calp limestone which takes on a dark hue when wet. This is the origin of the building's nickname.
Local lore says that you will summon the devil if you run around the church anticlockwise three times at midnight.

Lots of my photographs seem to contain circles or spirals lately. Not quite sure what is the meaning of it all. Any idea? Perhaps a desire for wholeness? All theories offered will be given serious consideration.
PRESIDIO OF MONTEREY, Calif. – The annual charity season began at the Presidio with a Combined Federal Campaign kick-off ceremony for key-leaders at the Tin Barn Oct. 19. The CFC, which is the only campaign authorized in the federal work place, is known to be the most inclusive workplace giving campaign in the world.
