In Autumn 2018 a group of Scots decided to walk '500 miles for Independence' from the Isle of Skye to Edinburgh. The aim of the walk was to inspire support for Scottish Independence. The group met in Skye on 14th September 2018 and walked through Inverness, Peterhead, Aberdeen, Dundee, Perth, Stirling and Glasgow. On Saturday 6th October 2018 they joined with other Yes groups to undertake the final leg to Edinburgh. 100,000 marchers gathered on the last day to bring attention to support for independence.
