Wish you a wonderful week ahead..

Operator 9 is on the line.

Two Bowens Esprit 500 W/S monolights--PC sync to the key light with the fill slave automatically triggered upon fire. On the left of the phone, at about an 8 o'clock angle, I shot through a white umbrella which was about the same level as the subject. The second (fill) light was higher up and maybe 6 feet away at a 5 o'clock angle, shooting into an umbrella facing a wall. The fill bounce off the wall diffused it pretty well overall and allowed me to bring out the gross, vintage-looking, olive-green background a bit more. I still have no idea what I'm doing, but I like the results of this experiment.

The National Day Parade (NDP) in 2016 was held in the new National Stadium (Sports Hub) which featured the world's largest retractable domed roof. A number of rehearsals were held before the NDP on 9 August. The NDP finished with spectacular fireworks display. This photograph recorded one of the sequences with different fireworks released from the national stadium and Kallang River.

The process is almost complete for this beautiful sunflower.

Gannet - Morus Bassanus

Bempton Cliffs

The gannets are large white birds with yellowish heads; black-tipped wings; and long bills. Northern gannets are the largest seabirds in the North Atlantic, having a wingspan of up to 2 metres (6.6 ft). The other two species occur in the temperate seas around southern Africa, southern Australia and New Zealand.

Gannets hunt fish by diving into the sea from a height and pursuing their prey underwater. Gannets have a number of adaptations which enable them to do this:

no external nostrils, they are located inside the mouth instead;

air sacs in the face and chest under the skin which act like bubble wrapping, cushioning the impact with the water;

positioning of the eyes far enough forward on the face for binocular vision, allowing them to judge distances accurately.

Gannets can dive from a height of 30 metres (98 ft), achieving speeds of 100 kilometres per hour (62 mph) as they strike the water, enabling them to catch fish much deeper than most airborne birds.

The gannet's supposed capacity for eating large quantities of fish has led to gannet becoming a description of somebody with a voracious appetite.

Gannets are colonial breeders on islands and coasts, normally laying one chalky, blue egg. Gannets lack brood patches and they use their webbed feet to warm the eggs. It takes five years for gannets to reach maturity. First-year birds are completely black, and subsequent sub-adult plumages show increasing amounts of white.

The most important nesting ground for northern gannets is the United Kingdom with about two thirds of the world's population. These live mainly in Scotland, including the Shetland Isles. The rest of the world's population is divided between Canada, Ireland, Faroe Islands and Iceland, with small numbers in France (they are often seen in the Bay of Biscay), the Channel Islands, Norway and a single colony in Germany on Heligoland. The biggest northern gannet colony is on Scotland's Bass Rock; in 2014, this colony contained some 75,000 pairs. Sulasgeir off the coast of the Isle of Lewis, St. Kilda, Grassholm in Pembrokeshire, Bempton Cliffs in the East Riding of Yorkshire, Sceilig Bheag, Ireland and Bonaventure Island, Quebec are also important northern gannet breeding sites.

Young gannets were historically used as a food source, a tradition still practised in Ness, Scotland, where they are called guga. Like examples of continued traditional whale harvesting, the modern day hunting of gannet chicks results in great controversies as to whether it should continue to be afforded exemption from the ordinary protection afforded to sea birds in UK and EU law". The Ness hunt is currently limited to 2,000 chicks per year, and dates back at least to the Iron Age. The hunt is considered to be sustainable, as between 1902 and 2003 Gannet numbers in Scotland increased dramatically from 30,000 to 180,000.

There are sailing ships that pass all our bodies in the grass …

There are names across the sea, only now I do believe … “

"The Cosmopolitan’s history goes back to a man named Juan Lorenzo Bandini, one of San Diego’s pioneers who settled here in the 1800s and a colorful and important player in San Diego's early development.

There are reports of full-bodied apparitions, objects being moved/placed in different areas, and voice Phenomena. Apparently room number eleven is one of the most haunted rooms in the hotel. Although people have reported seeing phantom specters throughout the building and the grounds.

Chrysanthemum is a plant that has been cultivated in China for millennia, currently in the world there are a large number of cultivated varieties. In Japan, one of the countries where this flower is much appreciated, chrysanthemum is seen as a symbol of the sun and the emperor, and there is even a national day of chrysanthemum, called the happiness festival, to celebrate it.

The thousands of existing cultivated varieties range from cultivars dwarfs about 30 cm high to plants about 1 m high.

Inflorescences vary widely in shape and colors, and can be classified, for example, such as simple, semidobrades, ball, pompom, anemone and spider. As for the color they can be yellow, white, pink, red and also intermediate tones between these colors.

Chrysanthemum flowers are edible, and are used to make tea in China and some Asian countries, but plants grown for ornamental purposes are generally inadequate for consumption as they may contain pesticides and other toxic substances.

From Asian origin this species has the scientific name of Chrysanthemum morifolium, sometimes also called Chrysanthemum hortorum and Chrysanthemum grandiflorum.

It grows better with temperatures between 15 ° C and 28 ° C, with high relative humidity, under direct sunlight or partial shadow with good light.

They are short -day plants, and flourish when days begin to decrease and nights increase in duration. Therefore they bloom in Autumn or Winter, depending on the region. In low latitude regions, they do not flourish naturally.

Together with the photographer Patricia Wilden, we came up with the idea of working collectively on this subject. You are invited to join and add your own visual interpretation (preferably by using the same title and then giving a number of your choice).
