Rows and rows of simple markers, the names of the people who have passed long forgotten. It was a very sad sight to see these markers tucked away in the woods without anyone to care for them.

Meet baby 'Richie McGiraffe' Giraffe. One of the set of six baby group No. 54. painted by School Children in the Christchurch South Library.
This one was painted by Somerfield School.
The Giant fibreglass Giraffe sculptures, reaching 2.5 metres high, are now standing tall on the streets, parks and public spaces of Christchurch and surrounding areas until 24 January 2015.
At the end of the public art exhibition, in February, the Giraffes will be auctioned so we can all be part of raising money for local charities and turn the city’s Summer of fun into a helping hand for those who are in need.
