I shot this roll twice; once with a bit of black card, with a star cut out, then again normally, to get this awesome multi-exposure effect.
Number 184T - 2017
Leonardo Drew (born 1961)
Medium - Wood, paint, and mixed media
Leonardo Drew is a Brooklyn-based artist who works with everyday materials - including wood, cotton, iron, and paper - which he alters by burning, premature aging, painting, and rusting. His sculptures might look like they were composed from found objects, but they are mostly made from new materials. Many of Drew’s installations are directly related to their location, connecting with architecture, natural surroundings, and events related to a place. Number 184T, created specifically for Crystal Bridges, is meant to be experienced both close up and from the North Lawn. Although the artist re-uses materials from installation to installation, no two works are the same and each reflects the location and moment in which they were created.

This World Class attraction was everything we expected and more. Construction has just begun on a major expansion, but that has been managed in such a way that it does not in any way detract from the experience now.
This album focuses on the artwork inside the buildings and on the other interior spaces including the Eleven Restaurant and the Gift Shop. A separate album posted a few days ago is devoted to the two April mornings that we spent exploring just some of the trails that crisscross the 120 acres of Arkansas forest around the museum.
Alice Walton and her co-creative team can be proud of the vision and execution of everything on this 120 acre site.

"Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art is a museum of American art in Bentonville, Arkansas. The museum, founded by Alice Walton and designed by Moshe Safdie, officially opened on 11 November 2011. It offers free public admission.
Alice Walton, the daughter of Walmart founder Sam Walton, spearheaded the Walton Family Foundation's involvement in developing Crystal Bridges. The museum's glass-and-wood design by architect Moshe Safdie and engineer Buro Happold features a series of pavilions nestled around two creek-fed ponds and forest trails. The 217,000 square feet complex includes galleries, several meeting and classroom spaces, a library, a sculpture garden, a museum store designed by architect Marlon Blackwell, a restaurant and coffee bar, named Eleven after the day the museum opened, "11/11/11". Crystal Bridges also features a gathering space that can accommodate up to 300 people. Additionally, there are outdoor areas for concerts and public events, as well as extensive nature trails. It employs approximately 300 people, and is within walking distance of downtown Bentonville."

Two of Amtrak's Genesis locomotives lead Number 8, the eastbound Empire Builder, through Camp Douglas, WI.
What's That Foster? This is the mystery item for the day. Care to wager a guess?
The Ruler is just there for scale so you know the size of the item, and not part of the the puzzle.
Have fun.
Arco is an odd little town in southern Utah. We initially stopped because we heard the (very misleading) claim that the local cafe had some of the best burgers in southern Idaho. In the center of town is the mast to a nuclear submarine. I later found out that the navy's nuclear submarine engines were designed and built at a nearby research facility and quite a few of the staff who worked there in the 60s and 70s decided to stay there, making this little town a hub for retired nuclear engineers.
Also on the park's lawn were a decommissioned nuclear waste containment unit, a torpedo, and a 15" x 10" foot building that acted as the town's visitor center filled with nuclear research historical memorabilia and displays.
This year Festival Number Six invited The Future to create beautiful mayhem. We took a crew of performers and activists and created a roving performance based on the inspiration for the festival - the Sixties science fiction show The Prisoner.
Thousands of people took the cards we were handing out explaining what The Future is trying to do. And hundreds of people asked if they could have the Eye painted on them - so that by the end of the day hundreds of people were ready to party the night with The Future's symbol drawn on their skin.
Nov '09 I had a real close session with "Number 6". You can easily see the two rows of 3 dots on the left side of his head, like a dice, which gave him his name.
