Bikes are numbered, tagged, and are awaiting their riders for the prologue of the 2011 Tour of Utah at Olympic Park in Park City, Utah. Taken Aug. 9, 2011.

Now *that* is something you just don't see everyday. (Well, unless you're the car's owner, I suppose…)

In any case, I sure had good timing on my photowalk today. That car is totally badass.

Garden Number 5 - "Rosecliff" - 65 Cooksey Drive, Seal Harbor

"The gardens at Rosecliff are situated on craggy granite cliffs high above the ocean. The original gardens were developed in the 1920's when the original owners built a series of garden areas connected by winding paths that lead visitors down from the house above to the rocks overlooking the water. When the present owners purchased the property, they invited noted English garden authority and designer Penelope Hobhouse to develop plans that would expand the network of paths and granite steps to link the east lawn with the gardens below while addressing the many challenges of the site: shallow soil, rock outcroppings, and severe winters with high winds and abundant salt spray. In the resulting mixed borders, beautiful shrubs and perennials flow gracefully over the granite walls into the lower beds, and native plants provide year-round interest, particularly in the steepest area near the sea."

Number Hill in Arco, Idaho

In the year 1000 CE, Iceland converted to Christianity in a relatively peaceful manner. Although the number of Icelanders who attend church services nowadays has diminished, there remains a respect for the role of religion in the nation’s history along with an appreciation of the beauty of the houses of worship. Akureyrarkirkja Church is one of the most contemporary and original churches in Iceland, built to mirror the island’s most magical, natural landscapes.

Akureyrarkirkja (The Church of Akureyri), located in the centre of the city, is a prominent Lutheran church and an icon of Akureyri in northern Iceland. An imposing structure during the day, the church makes for a stellar sight at night when it is illuminated by soft amber lights.

It was designed by the famous architect Gudjon Samuelsson and consecrated in 1940. The central stained glass window above the altar formed a part of a set originating from England. The bas-reliefs on the nave balcony are by sculptor Asmundur Sveinsson. The altarpiece dates to 1863 and was designed by Danish artist Edvard Lehmann. The windows were designed and made in Britain. The Italian white marble baptismal font is made by Florentine sculptor Corrado Vigni. The angel baptismal font is a replica of a work by noted Danish sculptor Bertel Thorvaldsen. The church also features a large pipe organ with 3200 pipes, a unique interpretation of the crucifixion and a model ship suspended from the ceiling, reflecting an old pagan tradition of offerings for the welfare of loved ones at sea.
