Wander lust seems to have returned to young number 11. On Friday afternoon he decided to move further north along the Mauritanian coast. He flew approximately fifteen kilometres during the afternoon, to settle once again for the evening on the shoreline.
Earlier this year I got the chance to go to Manchester City Football Club to take photos for a site we were designing at work. I'm not massively into football but it was a fun day and very interesting.
Seen in a back street in the old town in Caceres. I found the colours in both the laundry and the pegs pleasing, particularly against the highly textured background.
The ship partnered with the TV show Dancing With The Stars to host an onboard contest they called Dancing With the Stars at Sea. Six passengers (three female and three male) were teamed up with profession dancers to compete. The winning passenger received a free cruise for two and other considerations.
These have been numbered but they are really in no order..I actually found that I had what I consider 30 shots out 200 that were fair quality
The fireworks displays took place over the Bayou in Houston by memorial Park and then there were a few shots rom the celebration at the Galeria as well as the Astrodome.
This one is was named becuase it looks like a fiery orange blossom set against a black backdrop and the stem is the yellow sprakly trailing behind and down

Volubilis is a partly excavated Berber-Roman city in Morocco situated near the city of Meknes, and may have been the capital of the kingdom of Mauretania, at least from the time of King Juba II. Built in a fertile agricultural area, it developed from the 3rd century BC onward as a Berber, then proto-Carthaginian, settlement before being the capital of the kingdom of Mauretania. It grew rapidly under Roman rule from the 1st century AD onward and expanded to cover about 42 hectares (100 acres) with a 2.6 km (1.6 mi) circuit of walls. The city gained a number of major public buildings in the 2nd century, including a basilica, temple and triumphal arch. Its prosperity, which was derived principally from olive growing, prompted the construction of many fine town-houses with large mosaic floors. ~Wiki
Volubilis is one of Morocco’s best-preserved Roman ruins. Established before the Christian Era, at a time when the area was part of Mauretania, Volubilis was considered the administrative center of the kingdom of Mauretania and also one of the most remote cities within the Roman Empire, located in the far southwestern region.
While the city continued to grow well into the second and third centuries AD when the majority of the buildings still visible were built, it is believed that the 42-hectare walled city was once home to 20,000 residents. With wealth generated from local olive production, many grand residences, complete with stunning mosaic tile work, were constructed (and still visible and intact to this day despite being open to the elements) as were public hammams, triumphal arches, and parliament buildings.
In 40 AD, residents began to revolt; however, the granting of Roman citizenship and tax-free status for ten years calmed the situation. But when the local Amazigh people started to pressure the Roman Empire, the Romans withdrew in 285 AD, although the local Syrian, Jew, Berber, and Greek populations continued to speak the local language of Latin.
In the eighth century, when Islam arrived in the region, the churches were destroyed, although locals continued to occupy the city until the 11th century. While Volubilis remained inhabited and maintained its status as a capital city for centuries after the collapse of the Roman Empire, the city lost its administrative center status when nearby Fez was established, and the residents were relocated to the mountainous village of Moulay Idriss.
In the 18th century, the Lisbon earthquake hit the region, which caused the destruction of the buildings. As early as the 1830s, well before the French Protectorate era, the French army began excavations. In 1997, the archaeological site of Volubilis was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage Site List.
