Amsterdam Pride 2024
Queer Amsterdam and the Pride Amsterdam Foundation are jointly organising this year's new event Queer & Pride Amsterdam. The event will last from 22 July to 4 August.
Everyone should feel free to be themselves. It is time to pay attention to the diversity of gender identities and our right to self-determination. We have the right to deviate from the norm and the sex we were given at birth. The 2024 theme is "Together"
Amsterdam Pride was first organized in 1996, meant as a festival to celebrate freedom and diversity. It was therefore not like many other Gay Prides, which began as demonstrations for equal rights. The latter purpose served another event, which is called Pink Saturday (Dutch: Roze Zaterdag) since 1979 and is held in a different city each year since 1981.
The peak of the festival is during the Canal Parade, a parade of boats of large variety on the first Saturday of August.

This view of GB Railfreight's class 73 electro-diesel locomotive 73 202 at London Bridge station is taken from the locomotive's Number '2' end, with the front end of the Number '2' end being grubby from when the locomotive hauled the annual Rail Head Treatment Train (RHTT) workings between October and December 2023. 73 202 was deemed surplus to requirements by Southern so it went to GB Railfreight during 2022 with the locomotive retaining its former Southern two-tone green & white livery but now carrying GB Railfreight lettering on its bodysides as well as a large locomotive number in orange. I am confident that with GB Railfreight's strong interest in painting some of their locomotive fleets into 'retro' 1970s and 1980s British Rail liveries 73 202 will eventually receive a repaint into a 'retro' BR livery at some stage in the future.

I like the way this window goes back in layers until the glass is reached...The walls of this cottage must be so thick!

The Fibonacci Numbers are closely related to the golden ratio, and thus they also play a prominent role in exalted natural and artistic compositions!
I'm working on a far deeper book titled The Golden Ratio Number for Photographers. :)
The famous mathematician Jacob Bernoulli wrote:
The (golden spiral) may be used as a symbol, either of fortitude and constancy in adversity, or of the human body, which after all its changes, even after death, will be restored to its exact and perfect self.
Engraved upon Jacob’s tombstone is a spiral alongside the words, "Eadem Mutata Resurgo," meaning "Though changed, I shall rise again." And so it is that within the Golden Ratio Principle, the golden harmonies rise yet again.
The golden ratio is oft known as the divine cut, the golden cut, the divine proportion, the golden number, and PHI for the name of the architect of the Parthenon Phidias. It has exalted classical art on down through the millennia and it can exalt your art too!
