This preserved set of 4 M. Callijma Butterflies came from a Lepidopterists (a person who collects butterflies & moths) collection that numbered in the thousands from all over the world! These butterflies are named and dated on the back, May 28, 1941, from Hondo Texas, making these butterflies 70 years old! The preservation process has insured their beauty to be preserved for years to come! They are artfully displayed with the inclusion of a dried flowers and soft white flowing seeds (possibly milk weed silk) placed between the butterflies and the cotton background for a lovely effect! It is a 5x7" airtight frame, with a glass front. It is a unique item that adds a touch of color to a natural history collection!
Just like a museum, these should be place in a location without direct sun as that could fade them.
The butterflies are a lovely, very patterned orange and brown.

As Lydia posed in front of the Hondo Texas welcome sign that stated "This is God's country don't drive through it like hell" she spied the M. Callima butterflies in the field. It seemed that butterflies came to her wherever she went.
