The good old number six. It stopped both in front of our hotel, and very near Lange Erlen, the wonderful little park on the German border that stole my heart. Here it is, coming and going, on Gerbergasse, near Marktplatz. As for the architecture, half of Basel looked like this, an absolute glut of grand old stone buildings with steep roofs pitched against the snow. Not that we saw any in July, but this nifty video may give some idea of the sights (and sounds) of a tram ride on a somewhat more wintery day.
During my initial interview with Sarah, I asked her if she had any hobbies or things she loved doing, and the first response that came to her mind was her children. Another thing she loves is coffee, oh and coffee. I found this coffee mug for her and the list of “Nutritional Facts” on the cup (please zoom in to read) basically summed up my impressions of Sarah.
In getting to know Sarah and meeting her family and children I understood why they were the first thought in her mind. I think the mug was a good fit, as she definitely is a #1 Mom.
This was another artwork made for a CGSociet.org "strange behaviour" challenge.
I decided to combine my love of Steampunk with some robotics and got the idea of an assembly line robot who keeps picking the crusty grease out of his nose. Much to the disdain of his human overseers. Boris or Number 446 works in a radio assembly plant inspecting valve tubes for faults.
This scene was rendered in 3 different layers which were then assembled in Photoshop.
modelled in 3D Max 8.0
Rendered with V-ray and background layer was rendered with Maxwell.
Final assembly, composition and colour adjustment in photoshop.
Tony Stark, Black Widow, Rogue, another Black Widow, Spider-Man, Spider-Man 2099, Scarlet Witch, Iron Man, American Dream, and another Spider-Man, all waiting in line to sit on the throne of Asgard.
Brass address number fixed to an Australian brush fence. I love brush fences as they are so natural, but on the minus side, some dastardly fiends go around lighting them up ... and they catch fire so easily.

After scribbling at Mr Wolf’s for the last few months Tim Miness and I were asked by Mr Wolf himself to illustrate the floor of the, soon to be open, pizza restaurant on the first floor of Number 51 (formerly The Junction), Stokes Croft.
We spent the whole weekend crawling around the floor drawing vintage adverts related to the restaurant and the history of the area and we’re pretty pleased with how it turned out. The first picture is just after we finished the job and the second is after it had been varnished.
I’ll put a few more up when tables are in place and the restaurant is up and running.
