These photographs were a set I took to do with the genre 'Bones' within my foundation course. I made the mask myself from the reminance of a lovely roast cooked by my mother. The mask adds a real tribal feel which is what i was going for and gives a strong secretive feel to the photographs.
The Bubbler in collaboration with the Neighborhood Intervention Program (NIP) and Prof. Faisal Abdu ́Allah present an art exhibition by Madison youth. "Mask Off!" brings together UW-Madison staff, The Bubbler, and teenagers of greater Madison to celebrate identity, alter egos, and human complexity. Based on 15 weeks of workshops with diverse artists, the project emphasizes the multi-vocality and diversity of the youth who are often at the forefront of the nation’s friction. The art, made by the teens, tells stories about the multiple facets of self-imagination versus determination by society. The alter egos that the teens developed reflect upon their adaptation to challenges encountered in their every day lives.

The Eagle feathers are adorned with white leather lacing on top of black suede leather, 'Padre' beads and latigo lacing added.

I am responsible for making a flier for an upcoming masquerade, so I made a mask and spent about an hour locked in the bathroom taking pictures, cause that's the only place I have with no windows, and obviously, a masquerade flier needs sparkles and candles. :)
I've also toyed with the idea of being a graphic designer. It's not likely to happen, but I thought I would try my hand at it and see whether it can be one of those on-the-side hobby job type things.

Look alive, sunshine!
This is a leather mask inspired by My Chemical Romance's album and universe, Danger Days - The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys.
I used acrylic paint and freehanded the design. It's been distressed to look well worn. Just a bit of fun!
