This mask came out really well.
The scales are actually lentils, glued painstakingly one by one on the plaster gauze base.
I first base coat painted it, decided it didn't look right, painted it black then added the silver spraypaint.
Note: If you decide to try the same, prepare the lentils by moistening them a bit then letting them dry. They split in two. The moistness of the glue started to split mine and you can imagine the swear word involved when I noticed that.

The Teen program for the day was to take fun pictures with some creative masks that Sti created. The kids had a great time putting on the masks and different personalities that went with them.
Trying out masking fluid. This is inspired by a book "Op zee" about a solo sailor who gets intro trouble "at sea".
This is heavily inspired by the B+W illustrations in the book - the illustrator Jenna Arts made beautiful black and white illustrations and a blu-ish cover: see here for instance: boekbladleest.blogspot.nl/2011/06/hannie-leest-op-zee-van...)
This is the mask you will use. In the operating room you will breathe in the sleepy air through this see-through mask. The anesthesiologist (doctor who will help you sleep) will help you do this. This mask smells like bubblegum. If you do not like the smell of bubblegum, let your doctor know.
