I haven't yet worn a mask and don't anticipate doing so. Most people don't wear masks and don't object to those wearing masks or bandannas over their faces (though it is a potential invitation to criminals, if you think about it, a security issue). But I can understand. If I were employed, I may feel I had do (I'd like to be employed, am looking). My understanding is the frequent plastic mask seen is available for free from the 'V for Vendetta' movie promotional machine.
Clark Mills created this bust of George Washington in 1853 by using the actual life mask of Washington created by French sculptor Jean-Antoine Houdan in 1785. Houdan once wrote that he captured, "the majesty and grandeur of Washington's form and features," while making the original plaster cast of Washington's face.
The Clark Mills bust of George Washington is on display at the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History's the Price of Freedom: Americans at War exhibition.

I had a blast photographing people trying on my masks at the Ojai "Art-in-the-Park" this weekend. I love to see how the combination of a mask and a person creates a new entity, more than the sum of its parts, and how that new being is released and expresses itself...
This is the second tweak of the mask that was moved from outside the Marlow Theatre to the Council Offices, very dramatic sculpture. View it large and you'll get the impact.
Hartmann mask (sometimes called a Hartmann hat) is a tool to help focusing telescopes, mainly used by amateur astronomers.
I got a new mask mold. This is the first test piece. The piece had some scratches (because I dropped it when it came out of the mold) so I just enhanced and incorporated them into the finished look. Kind of boring but, like I said, this is only a test.
