An old spile (not the beer) found in a diseased maple tree. Other trees nearby were tapped and had several gallons of sap collected already.

Prompt: Create a digital fine art, ultra-realistic, of a wide-angle, horizontal winter landscape featuring a rustic wooden sugarhouse surrounded by snowy hills and soft morning light. Two older men in red-and-black plaid jackets work beside a wooden sled holding a large maple-syrup barrel. Snow-covered trees frame the scene, and distant mountains glow under a pastel sky with fluffy clouds. A decorated Christmas tree stands near the sugarhouse, which has a bright red “Vermont Made - Maple Syrup” sign on the front. Another worker stands near additional barrels by the building. The atmosphere is serene, with crisp winter shadows, detailed textures in snow, wood, and clothing, and a nostalgic New England maple-harvesting mood. Cinematic wide shot, natural lighting, high detail, horizontal aspect ratio.

This photo was actually planned for this week but the photoshoot didn't go to plan, so I gave up. I thought I would share the only photo I managed to get. :)

maple syrup season in our neck of the woods.....

A highlight of the Highland Maple Festival is the opportunity to visit the county's sugar camps to learn how maple syrup is produced. At Duff's Sugar House at Fair Lawn Farm near Monterey, Virginia, the owner demonstrated the process of boiling sugar water to make syrup, with the kettle in this photo.

This represents all the syrup we've made so far this season ... every time we "draw off" we fill a sample bottle and label it - this gives us a visual record of the season! The 4 bottles in the front are the Vermont grading kit bottles with "Fancy" grade on the right and "B" grade on the left. The row in the back starts on the left with our first draw on 3-17-11 ... "Fancy" then it darkened over the next week to a light "A-medium". The next week it darkened a little more but was still "A-Medium" (as long as it's lighter than or equal to the sample bottle it qualifies) and then we were able to get it back to a beautiful, very light and delicious "Fancy" - the last three bottles on the right were made last night.

This is a very small variety of items I use when I cook. I'm making Instant Pot Baked Beans with Chicken and Apple Sausage for lunch today. I'm going to have it with a nice piece of Gluten Free Bread and Vegan Butter.

Comfort eating! Gorgeous background and fresh vanilla pods from Riana ...thank you...I love them. This is the first time I've ever had or used fresh vanilla pods....yummy!!!

When I cook, the food almost always comes out tasting great. I cooked for a living for a long time. But sometimes it comes out looking good. I thought that this one of those times when the French toast and bacon came out extra good looking. I don't always drink my orange juice in a wine , but I thought it would look good that way, in a photo. I had my lights set up at the breakfast table, from shooting the coffee and Small Farmer's Journal, and as always, I had my camera on hand. So I just clicked away. I loved the small family owned maple syrup and the bottle it came in was cool, so I slapped it in the image. I have become like those iPhone photographers, on instagram, taking photos of there food. should I throw in a LOL?

. . . What's not to love about pure Maple Syrup!

~ it's a unique polyphenol, quebecol that is found in maple syrup,
