Where do you go to take photos when it is raining? Well the rain forest is as good as any other place.
Went out to Mount Warning National Park on Sunday morning, nice and over cast, but raining - thought it would be a perfect day for rainforest shots, without too much sunshine streaming through. Have always had a lot of trouble with rain forest images - as they always seem to come out very messy. This time tried to focus on the minature landscapes within the big picture.
Thought these looked like fairy steps - yeah I know, silly, but!

I've been taking studio pics of my equipment lately, and here is my Manfrotto tripod, close up.
This thing can get super tall or super low, and the ball head is a compact ball head, but it has supported my Nikon D90 with battery grip and even my heaviest of lenses no problem.
The weather is truly awful today so no outdoor shots, me thinks. Plus, I've been meaning to shoot this floozy of a Manfrotto logo since buying the new tripod...
Extra slutty.
I schlepped my monopod all over Manhattan like this, and I could hardly tell it was there. It may not be that smooth with the tripod, but I certainly need to give it a test drive or two.
I've got the head looped through the ice axe loop on the bottom, and the center post of the tripod clipped into the upper strap, then a bungee ball to hold the legs together.
