My first post from my 50mm 1.8 D.
First of all, the beauty of prime is that it forces you to really try to see the world from different perspectives. With a zoom you get lazy and don't really move around. With this lens, you also get the bonus of a fixed and wide aperture. More prime lenses and pics to come!
Had to pick up my 100mm f2.8 macro from repair (the AF got sick), and got there a bit early, so I stopped by a nearby lake and annoyed the local birdlife....
Don't really know the species of the birds I got shots of - any input welcome :)
Tribute to my tripod which makes most of my photography possible. Oh, and my new Manfrotto tripod strap which I got yesterday, trés awesome.

I'm just learning how to set the tension ... may take some getting used to ... but how I love the shots I can get never that were so elusive before. Watch out, Mr. Cardinal ... I've got a new toy! : ))
Thanks Mark!!!!

Customer service is not how they treat you before they get your money. That is sales. Customer service is how they treat you after they have your money, and you have a problem with their defective product. This is the second time this tripd has broken in a few months. I do not put it through rugged use. It is just poorly made. The first thing was easy for me to fix, but this one...
I have tried twice to reach them through their web site, and gotten no response. They know this tripod was an expensive piece of junk, and are not going to do anything for me.
