A large glass (roughly the size of a pint glass) decorative scented candle holder (sold with the candle already inside), this is a close up of the centre of a flower with petals extending outwards (photo area approx 1cm x 1cm) that's cut into the external surface of the holder (maybe 20 or so of these flowers cut into the surface of the holder altogether), barely noticable to the touch, surrounded by gold decorative flakes which appear to be printed on the inside surface of the glass. The shot was taken with the iPhone on the outside of the holder together with the torch which helped to highlight the flower shape. The holder itself is made from about 3mm thick glass. So the fine lines visible must be the original cut marks made in the glass surface.
Olloclip macro @ 14x magnification, Hisy remote, Manfrotto Tripod, small handheld LED torch, processed in Snapseed on iPad Pro with Apple Pencil, and further tweaked in 'Photos' on iMac.

A fine, sunny winter's day seemed a very good excuse to go for a wander along a beach - this one at Kai Iwi near Whanganui.

Before the side limbs fell off this tree during the last couple of droughts, it was 86 foot wide and 84 foot tall.
It is l have been told by a wood cutter, a grey box gum.
I have played under this tree since l was six.

Heute morgen mal wieder Unterwegs...Dieser Gimpel zeigte sich kooperativ.... wünsche euch einen schönen Sonntag
Considering the weather we have had this weekend, I was quite pleased to get this shot after venturing out this afternoon.
A bitingly cold wind across the hills meant it was a brief time outside the car and despite this being a heavy crop, came out not too badly!

Nach langer Zeit klappte es endlich mal mit einem Bild der Rohrdommel. Ich bin schon oft unterwegs gewesen um Sie abzulichten,meist muste ich weit dafür fahren und dann eigentlich immer ohne vorzeigbaren Erfolg. Im Ruhrgebiet ist diese scheue Art ja nicht so stark vertreten. Dazu kommt noch das der Schilfbewohner sich meist im Dickkicht versteckt und nur langsam bewegt.. Seine Färbung ist optimal für seinen Lebensraum..Eine wirklich Interesante Art...
Bin total froh über dieses Bild und die Begegnung....

Thanks to Amazon for their speedy delivery, I received my Giottos tripod today. It is a heavier (2.1 kg) tripod compared to my Manfrotto back home, which I think is better given the weather here in Scotland.
Will try to get some shots with it this weekend... depending on the weather though. Have a great weekend!

Esse foi o primeiro empilhamento de foco realizado em campo (field stack) com a lente MP-e 65mm.
Essa pequena mariposa de aproximadamene 15mm estava praticamente imóvel sobre um tronco de uma árvore favorecendo o trabalho.
Para esse registro foram necessárias 40 fotografias com a lente MPe- 65mm (magnificação de 1x).

An adult dunlin in breeding plumage shows the distinctive black belly which no other similar-sized wader possesses. The winter dunlin is basically grey above and white below. Juveniles are brown above with two whitish "V" shapes on the back. They usually have black marks on the flanks or belly and show a strong white wingbar in flight.
