Not quite as nefarious and rather cute, these critters chirp, chatter and call out as I am passing by. I'm going to the mountains this weekend to shoot (with John Fielder!) and am practicing carrying my backpack and lugging a very heavy Manfrotto tripod. From another "live and learn" experience, last time I carried a bigger and heavier pack with a lighter tripod, it was not a good time and I did not use half of what I had packed in and my tripod could have easily blown over! Live and learn.
Nach langer Zeit klappte es endlich mal mit einem Bild der Rohrdommel. Ich bin schon oft unterwegs gewesen um Sie abzulichten,meist muste ich weit dafür fahren und dann eigentlich immer ohne vorzeigbaren Erfolg. Im Ruhrgebiet ist diese scheue Art ja nicht so stark vertreten. Dazu kommt noch das der Schilfbewohner sich meist im Dickkicht versteckt und nur langsam bewegt.. Seine Färbung ist optimal für seinen Lebensraum..Eine wirklich Interesante Art...
Bin total froh über dieses Bild und die Begegnung....

Part of the Oak roof of Frocester Court Medieval Estate Barn, Frocester nr. Stroud, Gloucestershire. On a drive back from a camera shop today I went through a beautiful village and noticed this barn, I knocked on the door of the Farmhouse and was warmly welcomed and allowed to visit the Barn in order to take some shots......apparently it is one of the better preserved medieval tithe barns in the country, built in the late 13th century, with roof timbers dated to 1525. The barn measures 186ft (68 metres) in length, 30ft (9m) wide and 36ft (11m) to the ridge (height), a truly wonderful building!! Zeiss ExoLens (Wide-Angle), Manfrotto Tripod, Hisy remote, edited in 'Photos on iMac and Snapseed on iPad Pro.

Mandarin duck the adult male has a red bill, large white crescent above the eye and reddish face and "whiskers". The male's breast is purple with two vertical white bars, and the flanks ruddy, and he has two orange "sails" at the back (large feathers that stick up like boat sails). The female is similar to the female wood duck, with a white eye-ring and stripe running back from the eye, but is paler below, has a small white flank stripe, and a pale tip to its bill. Both the males and females have crests, but the purple crest is more pronounced on the male.

For today's theme, I wanted to use an extremely flexible object by choosing "Slinkies" which with their intrinsic movement of great flexibility and beauty are also capable of creating refraction of light and reflections in a kaleidoscope of colours.
Pour le thème d'aujourd'hui, j'ai voulu utiliser un objet extrêmement flexible en choisissant des "Slinkies" qui avec leur mouvement intrinsèque de grandes souplesse et beauté sont également capables de créer des réfractions de la lumière et des reflets dans un kaléidoscope de couleurs.
