My husband built this birdhouse back in Alaska to specific sizes for swallows. Chickadees used it two years in a row. It stood high on a metal pole away from interlopers.

Then we moved here, birdhouse included, and finally, tree swallows! Sounds like quite a few hungry ones inside.

Eshaness in the Shetland Isles - first try with a filter and slow shutter speed - not easy to get it right but I enjoyed the experience!!!! despite being stood (actually crouched!) on a small ledge with a sheer drop into the Atlantic Ocean!!! :))

Taken last Friday evening at one of Ireland's most spectacular locations, the Cliffs of Moher. I was very fortunate to have a local photographer by the name of Sean Kitson accompany me to this location as it is not the usual place people shoot this scene from. The sunset was lovely with the colours radiating in the sky but this shot was taken just before the sun dropped below the horizon.

I love how the last warm rays of the sun light up the cliff faces beautifully while the flowers in the foreground stand over the surrounding views. Isn't it just lovely? This will be just one of the places we will be visiting on my Wild Atlantic Way Workshop next March (the North-North West workshop will take place this September).

I hope you all like it. Have a great evening whatever you happen to have planned and feel FREE to share it if you wish :D

Whilst Mount Ruapehu had disappeared into the clouds, I still had time to find this spot and capture this image of Mount Ngauruhoe or Mt Doom from The Lord Of The Rings, before it too became engulfed in cloud.

The sea stack at Waverley Beach - looking at all the cracks in it, I'm not sure how much longer this might be here! Originally it had a full arch connecting to the shore rock but this collapsed several years ago in 2012.

An adult dunlin in breeding plumage shows the distinctive black belly which no other similar-sized wader possesses. The winter dunlin is basically grey above and white below. Juveniles are brown above with two whitish "V" shapes on the back. They usually have black marks on the flanks or belly and show a strong white wingbar in flight.

Following an overnight wildcamp above castleton I stopped off at Ladybower on the route home to find her presented in all her glory....
