My first real view of Dartmoor, Devon. Grey Wethers Stone Circles are just visible down from the horizon on the left hand side. Zeiss ExoLens (Wide-Angle), Manfrotto Tripod, Hisy remote, ever so gently tickled in Snapseed on iPad Air.

This is an original brass keyhole of a walnut 19th century corner cupboard. To highlight a certain three-dimensionality, I practised a back lighting with a small LED torch from a rear slot of the lock. My contribution of the Macro Mondays theme of this week. HMM!

A change from Bay of Plenty images to an image taken today in Hawkes Bay at Waimarama - a place we've never visited before. Packed a picnic lunch and the camera and enjoyed this view!
"In the 2000s Waimārama was a combination of farmed land, permanent dwellings and baches (holiday homes). Bare Island has not changed much since James Cook described it as ‘a pretty high white island lying close to the shore’ in 1769, though it is now devoid of the buildings that were present when he sailed past" (southseas.nla.gov.au/journals/cook/17691016.html).

Encontrei esse simpático e calmo Louva-a-deus sobre alguns musgos praticamente imóvel, que permitiu aplicar a técnica de empilhamento de foco (Field Stacking). Foram feitas 44 fotografias e posteriormente combinadas com o programa Combine ZP.
Iluminada por dentro con cajas de luz cálida, por fuera con luz fría. Trabajo realizado en compañía de Julian Hoyas.

Happy Macro Monday everyone!
This cube is part of a perpetual calendar I have, consisting of four cubes (weekday, 2x date, and month), its edge length is a little less than 1 cm (= about 0.3937007874 inches). I put it on a mirror and used a table-top tripod. Light sources were the ceiling light and a little bit of blue hour remaining light from the window.

An adult dunlin in breeding plumage shows the distinctive black belly which no other similar-sized wader possesses. The winter dunlin is basically grey above and white below. Juveniles are brown above with two whitish "V" shapes on the back. They usually have black marks on the flanks or belly and show a strong white wingbar in flight.
