First go with the new toy - a manfrotto 454 macro rail. Really nice bit of kit. Focus stacking done in helicon focus.

The Manfrotto modo 785B tripod is extremely good, easily the best tripod I've ever owned. It has all of the functions and features of a full-size Manfrotto, but is about a quarter or less of the weight and very compact.
All controls operate smoothly but positively. The leg section quick releases never fail. Even the center column screws apart into two pieces to allow ground-level shots just like the larger and much heavier Manfrotto models.
Manfrotto's engineering has made many useful advances. None of the levers ever get in the way or catch on anything.

Learn how to use Macro lenses for close-up photography and how a tripod can help you get sharper images and better composition. Plus, learn when to use flash or natural light in your photography. The morning will start out with a classroom lecture then move out to the Tulip fields for a hands-on shooting experience. At the end of the session we will have an inkjet printing demonstration with pictures taken that day in the fields.
We decided to leave Shiraz very early to head to Esfahan. At 6 o'clock we are on the road, the temperature is good for traveling, till midday. After that it's very difficult to resist and avoid to fall asleep...
Esfahan is a pearl of Islamic culture, the finest mosque s are here perfectly positioned on the second biggest square of the world, Imam Square. It's huge and full of people that take a rest in the shadow, play football or take lunch but in contrast it seems also an intimate place.
I'm very surprised by the people, one can't walk alone for a minute, at every step someone ask if can help or is just curious to speak to someone that has chosen Iran as a destination, they want to discuss about Iran, about impression that we have of their country, about religion and scarf and everything. It is incredible the kindness, the simplicity and desire to know that everybody express.

Il mio nuovo treppiede della Manfrotto, il modello è lo 055xprob. Ne sono pienamente soddisfatto, raggiunge 178cm di altezza con la colonna centrale completamente sollevata, mentre per le riprese rasoterra è ottima la colonna posizionabile orizzontalmente.
Per la testa a sfera mi sono orientato su una 488rc4, compatta e funzionale, di semplice utilizzo e molto versatile.
Di grande utilità il blocco panoramico, che permette rotazioni di 360° senza che la macchina si muova dal proprio asse.
Comodissima, inoltre, la piastra di aggancio e sgancio rapido, dall'aria più stabile di quelle presenti sulle teste rc2.
È inoltre presente un blocco delle singole gambe a 23, 45, 65 ed 88 gradi (Per le riprese rasoterra).
This is my brand new manfrotto 055xprob tripod, with the 488rc4 ballhead.
The tripod's maximum height is 178cm, while the minimum is 10 cm.
