Editorial design for Golf Georgia magazine, the official publication for the Georgia State Golf Foundation.
Redesigned Lithonia Lighting's 800-page annual product catalog. The new design template was designed to hook into their PIMS (Product Information Management System) and dynamically extract image and copy data. All space usage was built to be flexible to accommodate different copy lengths and product sizes.
Opening spread for a feature story about the Ocala CSI unit. Djamel E. Ramoul's wonderful photography was subtly enhanced with a dot mezzo for a high contrast, somewhat pulp crime story feel. And I can never resist a play on words in a headline.

A long forgotten money saver, ideal for today's nouveau hoboes. Shelf Life would probably try this concoction but we draw the line at canned corn.

ABM Neal Award (finalist): Best Integrated Package
Part of a 50-page special report on the future of water and energy. Photographer Brad DeCecco shot on location in Australia to capture how life on farms, cities and mines are affected by the water crisis.
Heinz Pickles - Shelf Life is a wholehearted believer in lo-fi party treats, like the homemade mini-noshes above. Who needs a trendy titbit or an expensive canape when you could have a dill ‘n cheese boat? Also, we’re suckers for the lost art of toothpick arrangement.
This cover for this summer issue was the result of an idea from Kip Williams. He submitted 9 or 10 comps including the usual assortment of summery models you would expect to see. I admit, I considered it kind of a phone-it-in cover, but when I saw his idea for reflecting the logo in the sunglasses, I knew he had really hit on something! All I did was re-crop the image (zooming way in) for dramatic effect and finessed the logo a bit. I love being surprised like that. Great work, Kip!

Business to business wholesale catalog design for Royal Designs, Inc., a manufacture of high-end lamp shades and home decor products.
Is it us, or is it really hot in here? This ad depicts either a gigantic, menacing cheese casserole, or … a glimpse of Hell. Or both! It’s an inferno of cheese! Boil, giant cauldron, boil!! Mwah hah hah hah!!!
Uncle Ben’s Spanish Rice Mix: How To Be Famous For Your Spanish Rice! - The answer is: create a fully loaded rice dish that can blast enemies by shooting wieners at them.
This recipe is a surprise all right: an eye-opening mashup of breakfast cereal, fish, and carbs. Er, thanks very much. Could someone pass the salt and pepper? We’ll fill up on them instead.
7 Up: Drink Seven Up With A ‘Blue Burger’ - This is a seriously drab looking burger, blobs of ‘catchup’ and all. But wait – here comes the lady sommelier, holding out a bottle – perhaps monsieur and madame are interested in a distinguished bottle of pop?
Cover needed to encompass two vehicle-related events happening that month: The Festival of Speed and the Leesburg Bikefest.Originally had this idea to use the two balls for the previous year's Mens issue.

Kraft Tomato Ketchup - Sigh. You gotta love these people. Those postwar Brits – so downtrodden, so plucky, so willing to see a nifty ‘idea’ in a single blob of ketchup on a plate of dull food.
Visking Ltd. Skinless Wieners and Frankfurters Wiener Roast - Hey gang! Meet the wholesome teenagers and their skinless dogs – “They taste so good they “make” your party!” No necking, just roasting. Fortunately Mom is there to keep an eye on everybody.
Call us old hippies, but the sight of hands carefully rolling up plant material brings back memories of our thrill-seeking youth. Meatloaf and beans? Primo stuff, man.
Kellogg’s and Clover Leaf:
Tuna Temptation -
Hey everyone! Wouldn’t it be great if the Kellogg’s people got together with the Clover Leaf people and they jointly produced a terrific new recipe? The results are in! Unfortunately the Tuna Temptation involves quite a lot of work, and really only amounts to a semi-snack. Okay – it’s a tuna sandwich. Lying down.
