I have been too busy to do much stitching lately so I'm getting back into the swing of things by batch making cards using machine embroidery.
These are the results
I wanted to show that even an ageing body, with its wrinkled skin, could still be an object of beauty!

... still is one of my favorite "babies". so i just had to add one matryoshka design to my pimpiCUFF embroidery series. i made myself a cuff matching a velvet skirt i sewed last fall. i relly need some color right now.

I was given a sheet of magazine scraps which had been applied to a background in a haphazard manner and was asked to use this as a source of inspiration!
I find this sort of challenge VERY difficult as I usually work to an idea, not an image.
After a mild panic I decided to gesso the whole page in an attempt to tone down the images and then I used it to create a folder which I then die cut and embossed.
I then grabbed the scrap bag and started to machine embroider images which started to leap from the page.
This is one sample.
This was the first one of many. Made in 1999. Made with square shi sha and paper, with silk velvet and burmilana thread. About 8 inches high.
i took the plunge and bought the bernina digitizing software. this is my own design. i soooo love it how this turned out.

...created with the new Janome MC Horizon 12000. It is a purse which goes over your neck and shoulders leaving your hands free to spend that money it might hold shopping!!

Making an angel for a Festival of Angels.
The face is free machine embroidered and looks very garish at this stage.
I will refine it, but not too much as it will be viewed from a distance

new in my shop.
So, yes, here it is finished, I think, I always lose confidence at this point, trying to work out if I have stopped at the right point, I don't want to go over the top!
