This was made by using pieces of hand made wet felt which were seperately hand embroidered and then pieced together on to a fabric which had been machine embroidered before hand.

Moving through the steps of designing with new techniques, I'm allowing some synchronicity to come to play. The piece of sun dyed cloth that surrounds the fused flowers was itself a layered fused piece waiting to be made into business card cases. How could I refuse using it to frame this garden? Next, tying it together and filling out the design with more free motion stitched flowers and leaves.

My goal this week is to finish the textural stitching on these panels for the shrinebook. This is the first of them without geodes or nodules that only required the buttonhole stitch and bars. Really loving the finished effect. Still contemplating the need for a small border to set off the designs, and tie them together when assembled.
On the top of the chef's apron is a family of penguins, while the march of penguins appear on left pocket.
Not a sequel to "Dude, Where's My Car?" (thank goodness), but something my sister Laci said at a New Year's Eve party. See, Laci didn't know that my uncle was recording her because drunk!Laci is amusing. I convinced my uncle to upload it to youtube, and I think Laci will like the hand towel I made for her.
