I'm showing this body of work at Litebox Gallery in Birmingham if you happen to be around for the month of July. Photo is shown with accompanying text written on the wall in pencil from journals i was keeping at the time.

For Five Years I have thought that I did not have any Images Of Harrods Department store Within My Neglected Images Of London... I had in error thought that Harrods was located across the street from Parliament or Right In The Middle Of Piccalilli... so I could not spot the Store in any of the neglected Images... So how surprised that My Infamous Photo Acumen Actually did document the existence of Harrods five years ago (maybe it has been since gone out of business or made into a warehouse or a loft apartment complex)... But, whatever it is today, Harrods (I Think) had the World famous reputation of being the World's Greatest "Everything 99 (US) Cents Store and Refurbished Goods Discount Outlet." I understand that they later raised the Everything Price to $2.50 (US Dollars) but that might have been affordable for Mysterious Market Goods... Harrods had (I may be wrong on this) 16 World Class Michelin Rated 10 Star Gourmet Restaurants on Site that Offered Nothing On The Menu Except for Andy Capp Fries Bagged Potato Snacks... Had I eaten there, I would have enjoyed that Menu! (My Apologies to All, Especially Harrods If There Is any sort of silly misinformation in this bogus caption)

Is it mere coincidence that Jenny Flores was interested in flowers? Or is it destiny?

Bush Stadium, opened in 1931, had been the host of games in several leagues and hosted several event. It was home to teams in the American Association, International League, Pacific Coast League and the Negro American League in baseball, and a team in the Continental Football League. Its last usage was as a dirt track for auto racing in the late 1990s after the Indianapolis Indians vacated the facility in 1996.

It was known as Perry Stadium when built, later being renamed Victory Field in 1942, and finally renamed Bush Stadium in 1967. It has hosted baseball for the Pan American Games and the National Sports Festival. It even served as a filming location for the movie Eight Men Out.

Many future Major League Baseball stars came through these gates to play baseball during its 60+ years span. Though not as historic as Yankee Stadium or venerated Wrigley Field or Fenway Park, it is still a interesting decaying part of baseball history, and certainly minor league baseball history. Now in 2011, grass, weeds, rust, broken bricks and concrete overwhelm Bush Stadium.

As for the future, Bush Stadium will be turned into into a 136 loft apartment complex called Stadium Lofts. The project also includes several thousand square feet of retail and office space. Construction begins March 2012. Soon, it will be partially knocked down with only its shell remaining.

Street-art in DUMBO. The neighborhood formally home manufacturers and warehouses began becoming primarily residential after the city's deindustrialization. Artists and other young homesteaders seeking relatively large and inexpensive loft apartment spaces for studios and homes began moving there in the late 1970s making the neighborhood a mecca for the arts, which it is still today.

The only thing that has to be detached before removing modules is the upper hand railing on the back staircase. Everything else is plug&play.

With kind thanks to owner :)

My latest toy, a Zenit Photosniper, I bought this after some widely over imaginative people thought my camera tripod looked like a gun .... so I thought this would be funny!

Snaps taken with either this camera or lens can be seen here.

Lighting - My Metz 45 was triggered by ebay radio triggers firing straight up into the sloping white ceilings of my loft apartment at full power. The photosniper was on its side on top of the washing machine. The white appliances and white walls of my apartment made photoshopping the background out much easier, but still necessary.

After assorted lockdowns and tiers and winters I headed off to the Pennine side of Cumbria for a week. Milburn Grange below Cross Fell has several cottages to rent with my residence being the "Studio" which is the loft apartment up the steps at the far right of the buildings.

This is the new Pepsi Clock that I recently got. It replaced the old smaller clock that I originally had (and will be installing elsewhere in the apartment). This clock is huge at almost 2.5 feet wide by 3.5 feet tall. I rewired the clock so that the clock itself stays running, then added switches to control 2 sets of lights: 1. dim lighting so it can be seen at night and 2. (the original) bright fluorescent lighting so it can be used as a lamp. In this picture, the fluorescent light is turned on, and it is very bright (not to mention the fact that only 2 of the 3 tubes are functioning in this picture).

alright so i had a picture finished before 11:56pm friday, but when i uploaded it to flickr, i said to myself "that is BAD." it was bad. so, i took a new picture and am now posting my friday picture late, 40 minutes into saturday. the first picture was just dull. this one is cool mainly because the story behind these pieces of fruit and tin-foil is quite colorful and amusing. let me explain...

so, my current my life is being lived out in a luxury loft-apartment building in downtown brooklyn (don't think im rich, i'm not). the building has 24-hour concierges, who i've really taken a liking to (who wouldn't??) and who i believe have come to like me.

so, one of the them is very awesome, and upon returning home from a long workday today, said "i know you're hungry."

and i said "yea but i don't feel like walking to the deli for food. by the deli there is a bar with drunk creepy old men outside of it and i hate when they say sh*t to me. im just too tired to deal with it."

of course he says, "well if it's accompaniment that you need with you, then i will go." i cant even stop him and he calls for the porter to man the front desk while he's out. porter comes and we walk down the street.

so, here's me...five-foot-tall zoe in grungy paint stained shoes, jeans and tshirt, walking with a towering latino man in a black suit with a walkie-talkie. he is most definitely looking like my body guard. people are staring.

we go into the deli, more people stare, and i yell my order across and down the counter "bacon egg and cheese on a roll." raoul goes, "you getting a heartstopper at 11:15 at night??" to which my answer is "yes, PLUS fruit, dude. duuh." as i stand on my tippy-toes to reach the apple, banana, and orange.

at the cash register raoul orders coffee and pays for everything...even MY food. he tells the clerk to ignore my protests and throws my money back at me when i throw it at him. in retaliation, i take out my camera and shoot him. (haha. photographers joke. which i even said "im gonna shoot you..." as i did and he just rolled his eyes.)

on the way home, i take a picture of a busted trash bag in the middle of the street and raoul laughs at me.

ok. so THATS why there is a boring-ass picture of fruit on my photostream. if you read this far...THANK YOU. haha.

I had to transform the dinning room into my bedroom. there was a doorway with no door to the kitchen that I blocked and covered with a wall mural of mount fuji. also on that wall is the switch for the heater in that room. my bed and computer and tv are against all the wall heaters. my mom loaned me that pathetic space heater that makes you warm only if you are directly in front of it's red rays.

since then I have gotten a (slightly) better room heater and curtains to keep in the warmth. this was only in October. january I will be seeing icicles on my face. under my one-piece dino footie pajamas are long johns and wool socks.

I will chalk this up to life experience so when I'm rich and famous I can look back at my cold room days and appreciate my incredible warm tokyo condo. and mid-century rambler, and modern forest cabin, and loft apartment and penthouse and flat.

Sooooo excited about my new red shoes! I live in a loft apartment, and I love the railing.

"What's a carriage house without a carriage?" Kim Ward asked her husband as they purchased an Amish buggy built in Iowa circa 1850. The black carriage replete with deep red, tucked velvet seats befits the carriage house (also known as the Estemere Carriage House Art Gallery). Kim designed the plans to enlarge this building to approximate its original size, with the exception that the addition is set back one third the depth of the current building. The additional space will provide room on the ground level for a three entry garage. It also allows the loft apartment to be extended and a bathroom added.

NYC Loft: in the Common Area. YES, this is our "landline". I figure, if we're going to be old fashioned-like, we might as well go the FULL MONTY on the land~line technology.

HOW WILL YOU SHINE? A great start would be passing on this awesome NYC Loft apartment share --->

Some of you are already familiar with my inspirational "Phrase for the Year" (such as: "Wipe the Slate in 2008") practice. For those of you unfamiliar, every year for the past eight, I've chosen a positive motto to act as the year's theme. The theory being: It's meant to be placed on one's mobile phone so each time one opens and closes it, the motto is somehow absorbed into one's psyche. It can't hurt anyway!

After the previous 8 years, I felt the need for a really good phrase for coming 2009 & after nearly a year of mulling it over, I just couldn't seem to get "crime" rhyming with "9" out of my mind! As crime doesn't stand that tall in the positive reinforcement category, I definitely needed some help.

Then, suddenly, in the middle of the holiday season, the motto came from my childhood friend, PJ Mehaffey (in a Christmas card), "It's YOUR time to SHINE in '09!"

Feel free to change it as you see fit, others have suggested, "It's MY time to SHINE in '09!" & "It's OUR time to SHINE in '09!" Whatever works, I hope you'll consider using and start practicing for yourselves - whatever your theme.

All the best to you & yours in the coming New Year. We could ALL use some shine just about NOW! Don't forget to answer when you get the call.

While New York-based property developers are eager to pepper downtown St. Pete with high-rise condo towers that blot out the sunshine in the Sunshine City, it is refreshing to see one site that they won’t be getting their clutches on too soon. This older property has been agreeably transformed into a loft apartment block.

THE SAINT-AT-LARGE BLACK PARTY Posters

www.saintatlarge.com/

Featuring an image of me by Robert Mapplethorpe, the very first poster at the top left was for the March 1987 Saint Black Party. The photo of me was taken at Mapplethorpe's Chelsea apartment in November 1986.

I relocated from Washington DC over Labor Day Weekend 1980. THE SAINT opened on 20 September 1980.

In celebration of my 27th birthday, my best friend from college and then current roommate, Frank, held an MDA punch birthday party for me on Saturday evening, 4 October at our studio apartment at 319 West 21st in Chelsea, Manhattan, NYC. Before heading to THE SAINT we visited THE EAGLE and THE SPIKE which was walking distance from our apartment. And arrived at THE SAINT, sometime after midnight, on the 5th which was my actual birthday.

Frank and I would spend many Saturday nights / Sunday mornings at THE SAINT until my February 1982 relocation back to DC.

Working with VA, I would return to live in NYC, again, from March through November 1984. During which time I'd visit both THE SAINT and THE PARADISE GARAGE. Moved back to DC in December 1984.

And, I'd return to NYC several times, over the next few years, primarily, to visit THE SAINT. As was the case, when after their October 1986 Halloween Party during which time I stayed with Mapplethorpe at his Chelsea loft apartment and that he took the photograph of me that was featured on the March 1987 SAINT BLACK PARTY poster invitation.

Just saw a Facebook post that THE SAINT BLACK PARTY 2024 will take place on 23 March.

THE SAINT, THE EAGLE, and THE SPIKE were very much a part of my social life during my that time of my life in NYC. As well as SAINT MARK'S and THE EVERHARD bath houses.

When telling my story these places CAN NOT be left out.
