Now days only a select few artists have the means to own one of these apartments and capture the north facing light

"In the 19th century, Napoleon envisioned Paris as one of the most beautiful cities in all of Europe and set out to make that vision a reality. One of the first things he did was grant large portions of land in the center of Paris to his financial supporters. The result of that action was that people already living in Paris proper were driven out of the city itself to outlying villages, one of which was Montmartre.

Low taxes plus The inexpensive wine, food, living quarters and supplies, along with its Bohemian atmosphere, made Montmartre a destination of choice for artists of the day beginning in the mid-1800s. By the time the end of the century arrived, Montmartre had become one of the major artistic centers of Paris."

I was feeling so bored after a day at work that I thought I would have a little fun when I got in.

Lighting these "clones" was done with two flash guns, both about the same distance from the "clones" as the camera, set on auto, at ISO200, F11, just like the camera. An ebay wireless system triggered my Metz Mecablitz CL3, which was placed on a shelf, slightly lower than the camera. If you imagine the camera is at 6 o'clock, with the "clones" at the centre, then the Mecablitz is at 5 o'clock. The flash from the Mecablitz triggered the optical slave on my Cullmann CX40 flash. This was mounted on a tripod, slightly higher than the camera, at the 8 o'clock position. Finally, the white walls, and sloping white ceilings of my loft apartment all helped bounce the light around.

This has also had some "high pass filter" treatment after reading this discussion on the Strobist.

For Five Years I have thought that I did not have any Images Of Harrods Department store Within My Neglected Images Of London... I had in error thought that Harrods was located across the street from Parliament or Right In The Middle Of Piccalilli... so I could not spot the Store in any of the neglected Images... So how surprised that My Infamous Photo Acumen Actually did document the existence of Harrods five years ago (maybe it has been since gone out of business or made into a warehouse or a loft apartment complex)... But, whatever it is today, Harrods (I Think) had the World famous reputation of being the World's Greatest "Everything 99 (US) Cents Store and Refurbished Goods Discount Outlet." I understand that they later raised the Everything Price to $2.50 (US Dollars) but that might have been affordable for Mysterious Market Goods... Harrods had (I may be wrong on this) 16 World Class Michelin Rated 10 Star Gourmet Restaurants on Site that Offered Nothing On The Menu Except for Andy Capp Fries Bagged Potato Snacks... Had I eaten there, I would have enjoyed that Menu! (My Apologies to All, Especially Harrods If There Is any sort of silly misinformation in this bogus caption)

There are many authentic period features littered throughout the grounds. This great example shows an old wall and pillar, with hand-made gate. in front of the Silo unit at the Gruene Homestead Inn B&B in Gruene, TX (officially New Braunfels,

Texas which swallowed up Gruene but always will be referred to as Gruene, TX).

"The Silo is one of the most distinctive units available at the inn. It is essentially a 1 bedroom loft apartment built into a 1940's grain silo. The silo had been owned by Edwin Hanz and was initially located just off the back side of the property. Frequent guests of Gruene may recognize the structure itself as the "Gruene Silo Inn" that was owned by friends of the Miles family. The inn purchased and moved the silo in 2007 and have since remodeled both the interior and exterior in their own inimitable style. This unit has a very upscale feel and is quite a unique lodging experience. It can accommodate up to 2 adults and 2 children." Info taken from the following link:

Gruene Homestead Inn provides a full size, Texas-style hot breakfast to registered guests. Our breakfast is elegantly presented in our Faust dining room. We always have scrambled eggs, bacon, and potatoes as well as all of the traditional continental kinds of items... muffins, bagels, cereal, oatmeal, pastries, fruit, yogurt, milk, orange juice, tea, coffee, and water. In addition, we often provide one of the following dishes: Southern biscuits with optional sausage gravy;

Locally made Tamales and kolaches; Belgian waffles made to order with optional Blueberries

or Pecans; Homemade egg and sausage breakfast tacos.

Down under the numerous loft apartment/condo buildings along Washington Ave. in the old garment district are professional offices, specialty shops, restaurants, and bars.

Ozzie’s Restaurant and Sports Bar at 1511 Washington Ave., for example, occupies the first two floors of this structure which was built in 1909.

Its menu is very Applebee’s-like in offerings and prices. The second floor can be used for group events, like bachelor parties. Ozzie’s even has “Taco Tuesdays.” It stays open to 12:00 midnight weekdays and to 1:00 a.m. on the weekends, as any good pub should.

East Bank Lofts on the upper five levels rent out for about $1600 to $2200/month, according to one real estate listing service.

Given this combination, I wonder what the target demographic might be for these lofts.

Here's a sun-drenched shot of my building sandwiched between Green Grocer and Market Street, for context. Admittedly, it doesn't blend very well - but I'm okay with that.

we were awoken Saturday morning at 5am with growling and fighting in the ceiling. Racoons battling it out for a sweet loft apartment. how did they get in? We soon discovered how when one crashed through the ceiling int hebathroom. The roof has a huge hole, and we now have new house mates. temporarily, of course.

DIY - Cute Room Miniature Kit "Waiting For The Time" Loft Apartment (Toyouna)

Bush Stadium, opened in 1931, had been the host of games in several leagues and hosted several event. It was home to teams in the American Association, International League, Pacific Coast League and the Negro American League in baseball, and a team in the Continental Football League. Its last usage was as a dirt track for auto racing in the late 1990s after the Indianapolis Indians vacated the facility in 1996.

It was known as Perry Stadium when built, later being renamed Victory Field in 1942, and finally renamed Bush Stadium in 1967. It has hosted baseball for the Pan American Games and the National Sports Festival. It even served as a filming location for the movie Eight Men Out.

Many future Major League Baseball stars came through these gates to play baseball during its 60+ years span. Though not as historic as Yankee Stadium or venerated Wrigley Field or Fenway Park, it is still a interesting decaying part of baseball history, and certainly minor league baseball history. Now in 2011, grass, weeds, rust, broken bricks and concrete overwhelm Bush Stadium.

As for the future, Bush Stadium will be turned into into a 136 loft apartment complex called Stadium Lofts. The project also includes several thousand square feet of retail and office space. Construction begins March 2012. Soon, it will be partially knocked down with only its shell remaining.

Das Motto lautet: "Feels like home - but better".

Jepp! So geht Ostsee!

Aktion Goldener Herbst

I’m so glad my mother had the idea to drive around her town of West Palm Beach last year to photograph the sudden increase in wildly-painted murals throughout town.

I just saw on the news tonight, March 4, 2016- and read in the Sun Sentinel that “a portion of the mural façade of the Alexander Lofts apartment building broke away about 11 a.m., sending bricks from the six-story complex down through the roof of a small law office building below. The 1926 building is covered with a brick façade that is tied to an interior wall by metal attachments, said the communications director for the city of West Palm Beach. A failure of those attachments caused a piece of the brick wall to fall from the six-story complex down through the roof of the Law Offices of William W. Price, at 320 Fern St, West Palm Beach, Florida. Los Angeles artist Tristan Eaton painted his largest mural called "The Spirit of Communication" on the side of the Alexander Lofts building. The colorful piece covers 8,000 square-feet and is a tribute to Alexander Graham Bell.” Was....

....well, there is really no need for shouting in a tiny 65sm loft apartment and didn't actually do so.

...I am just ( almost ) always so happy for this part of the day....that setting the breakfast table and preparing breakfast are activites and a small ritual so much enjoyed :))

Enjoy stunning night views of the city. This trendy New York loft apartment is all yours! It has three levels and stunning views of New York City. The lowest level has a cool set of sofas and chairs, all posed. There's a couple of lamps you can turn on/off with a touch. Go up the beautiful polished wood staircase to the upper level, where there's even better views of NYC along with a luxurious bed. There's even a top level, but we're not sure how to get to it. We think there's a vagrant squatting up there as it contains a dirty stained mattress on some wooden pallets. Sorry about that.
